Considered a BIG NSV for me!
ADJL replied to Spaness2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oooh! I love rollercoasters! I've been too afraid to even try them for years. What a fantastic day you had and there is nothing better than the adoration of your children! Big thumbs up for this NSV! -
I'm at Ft. Campbell and had it done here on post in April. Anyone looking for local buddies?

UPDATE to: I am in desperate need of Motivation
ADJL replied to BeeKipp's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Way to go! I'd love that one-pot recipe from MrsInto if you can direct me to where it was posted? I've also just started the C25K and my only suggestion is to do each week as many times as you need to until you don't feel like you are going to die while running. It makes it so much easier and helps keep that motivation going instead of frustrating you because you aren't quite ready to move on to the next level...I'm going to end up with a 24 week program instead of 12 week program. :0) -
Big thumbs up! And I'll bet Hubs loved it too!

Happy Bandiversary! Of course I have a stroller...and a baby backpack too! We can go anywhere! And we don't need to walk fast either We can find a good pace that works for both of us. Just getting out and moving is whats important and I'd love a friend to do this with too! I do get up early with the little ones...but we can meet you anytime...the only thing is this miserable heat. Its hard for me to be motivated mid-day to exercise when its 90 degrees outside and humid...we just came from Germany so we aren't used to this miserable heat yet. So...as long as we go by about 10AM or if thats too early for you maybe we plan an evening walk? Does that work better for you? By 6-6:30-ish its started to cool down... I will pass on your thoughts to hubby. We're so used to this separation at this point. I was adding up months the other day and in the past 5 years we've spend approximately a total of 1 year together...and thats not 12 months in a row...thats 12 months over the past 5 years. *sigh* It will be nice to have him home (next spring) and this time its supposed to be for a year or so!

Looking for some local buddies! Thinking about a monthly meetup/hike/walk/chat? Anyone out there interested in a local buddy?

Create a meal plan and follow it. I find myself leaning toward fast food when I'm hungry...my kids are hollering because they are hungry and I have no plan. Two months is nothing. I say that because I'm at about two months also. This is HARD to change (in my case) 39 years of habits...Don't expect to break all your bad ones in just two months. Keep going! You can do this!!! Give yourself a second chance as your birthday present!

Oh yay! Donna12 - I'm at Fort Campbell...I'd love to set up a monthly, bi-weekly or weekly hike/walk. I've got two little ones (ages 4 and 1) and hubby is deployed so they go pretty much everywhere with me...BUT, they/we travel well and we like adventures! it can be short or long...easy or hard...Whats your interest level? And Aviva! When you head into town be sure and ping me and we'll plan a get together!

Eating Around Band Help! 40 Pounds Gained!!!
ADJL replied to Katie Ruble's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm a newbie to the band, but my guess is that you need to go back to basics...protein first, veggies then fruit. Chew forever and take at least 20 min to eat. Drink your Water and cut out sweets...and if you haven't seen your doc for a checkup/fill maybe its time to do that too? You still look great...but I know that slippery slope of gaining! You can do it! -
Love this! It's got to feel good to have it be too big!
-
Awesome story. You should be proud...it sounds like you have survived and conquered! What a strong woman you are.
-
As of yesterday, officially 60 pounds down!

I love your 5k victory photo! Yay color run! Congratulations! You have accomplished an amazing thing! -
I just had my first fill...3cc's in a 10cc band.

If this isnt success I dont know what is!
ADJL replied to flyerband's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Fantastic! I love success stories. -
I'm not a runner...by any stretch of the imagination...but I want to be...or at least want to learn to tolerate it better than I have and incorporate it into my repertoire of exercise. So...I started the C25K and have been doing ok with it and I decided to reward myself by signing up for the Nashville Color Run this fall! I'm super excited!
-
Fantastic difference! The weight must have come flying off you! Way to go.

Thank you Lap Bad!! Reflections after 9 months
ADJL replied to goalseeker's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Amazing progress! Your photos are such an inspiration! It still seems so far fetched that in 9 months I could be where you are! Thanks for the motivation...and 9 months from now I'll tell you what I'm thanking my band for. -
Do any of you keep a blog that is not on this site? Like on Wordpress or blogger? I'm looking for blogs of banders that are from a similar timeframe as mine... There are some great blogs from banders who have been around for awhile and have met their goals...i guess I'm looking for some newbie blogger friends.

I don't think it sounds silly at all....i've got a slew of clothes that I can't wear and some that I bought SURE that I would fit into them in ajust a few months...and they still have tags on them. Aiya! I can't wait until I find that "suit" fitting from my closet!
-
WOW! You look great! Congratulations!

Love this idea! And take measurements...until you get a scale they will help you know inches lost!
