Went for a fill yesterday and did fluro.... My esophagus just above my band is stretched a little!!! They say it's fixable because it's not too bad right now... I'm so angry at myself for letting this happen.... They said either laying down after eating, not chewing well enough or overeating is what's caused it! I need to fix this... Any ideas or suggestions??? True results isn't very helpful, they just tell me what wrong but don't really offer suggestions. Help!!! Please!! I'm new to this only 9 months post op so yes I have a lot to learn, so please don't be so harsh and negative on me, we all make mistakes! I can say I'm guilty of laying down after eating, so that I will change. I don't think I overeat, I don't eat to the point that I feel awful, do I need to start measuring my food??

Thank y'all! Loved the article! Great read! I talked to my surgeon and he is confident that it'll fix itself in about 3 weeks if I follow all the rules he gave me today, I feel much better! I'll have a follow up X-ray in a few weeks to check it out again!

Thank you, I just bought some portion bowels that have 1 cup measurements on them and I'll start using those to help me. I hope that I can reverse this little stretching that I have. I have put myself of a liquid/mushy diet until I see my surgeon on the 4th or he returns my call. It doesn't seem like a good idea to put full solids on a stretched esophagus, but idk.

Thank you very much! Yes I agree with that about true results however I still see my surgeon every month but he's not the one that gives me my fills. I will see my surgeon on the 4th. I did call and leave him a message today about my concern so I'm hoping he'll call me tomorrow.

So I just had my 10th fill, lost another 5 lbs! Down a total of 46 lbs since surgery 6 months ago! When the lady did my fill today under fluro, she said all I could hold was .3 cc's. just curious as to what that means???? It didn't really register with me what she said until I had already left. Any ideas as to what she means??? Thanks y'all!

I had a fill about two weeks ago, which has put me at pretty good restriction yay! But, since this last fill, every time I eat something, the minute the first 2-4 bites that I take hit either the band or my stomach I start to feel this odd funny feeling in my stomach. It's not a burning sensation, I don't feel sick, it's just a weird yucky feeling... Anyone else experience that?? Should I be concerned?? Sorry I can't really explain the feeling!

After doing some thinking and eating something different for dinner, I think I narrowed the feeling I get to only happening when I eat meat.... Hmmm

It's just two dats liquid two days mushie, which I did, it's been two weeks since my fill. I'm going to call my surgeon in the morning
-
Thanks, I was trying to hold out until I see my surgeon later this week, but I thinking I'll give him a call tomorrow. Just curious if anyone else had experience the same thing.
-
Thanks, my surgeon thinks one more fill and I'll hit the green. I get my fills from true results and then seen my surgeon a week later. I feel good restriction but not enough to keep my full long enough.., I think another .2 or .3 cc and I'll be great!!

Yikes! That's scary that he didn't know! How did your appointment go? Good luck with your weight loss journey!

I have 10.6 cc's in a 14cc band. I was banded 2/28/13.
-
Yes, I know and understand that she put .3 cc's in my band. My question was, why she would say "that's all I could take". Like that's all it would hold...

I've been craving a nice healthy salad, but have not been brave enough to try and eat one. Just curious on everyone's experience with salads??? I'm 5 1/2 months post op with 10.3 cc's in a 14cc band.
-
I didn't not try to eat one yet, I absolutely hate the feeling of being "stuck" so I don't venture out of my normal foods... Maybe one day I'll try!
-
Thanks y'all! I think I'll try having a salad for lunch today! I'm very cautious about my chewing so I know I'll chew well!

Got my 6th fill earlier this week, total of 9.5cc in a 14cc band and I'm finally feeling it work! I ate some breakfast this morning about 9, went on about my day as normal and around 330 I felt my tummy growl... And it hit me... I haven't eaten anything since breakfast and I was just now getting hungry! Score!!! My portions size is still a little more then they'd like so I won't say I'm in the "green zone" just yet. Prolly one more fill and I'll be fully in the green!

I exercise daily, about a hour or so. I'm just following my surgeons rules to get to my goal weight. My last fill has really let me know the band is there and I can feel it working. I must be doing something right... 4 months post op and I'm down 40 lbs so I can't complain!

That's great! Bread can be tricky, some people can eat it, some can not. My surgeon says to toast bread, it may go down. I personally have issues with bread so I've stopped eating it. Keep up the good work and good luck on your weight loss journey.

I'm at a cup of food right now, if I eat just half a cup I'm hungry in like 2 hrs. Surgeon said I'm good where I'm at right now, next fill should put me to the half cup mark and full. So I'm listening to my surgeon.

So I finally got the Fluro done! It was good to "see" all is ok! Got a small fill this time .5cc which puts me at 9.5cc in a 14cc band. I've lost 10 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks which puts me at a total of 40 lbs lost since surgery in feb!

Tomorrow I go in for my 6th fill, my last fill was hell and they hurt me trying to find the port. My concern is, I have not had an X-ray done since the day of my surgery 5 months ago. Should I demand a Fluro tomorrow during my appointment???
-
Thanks y'all for the advice. I do not get my fills done by my surgeon but at a different facility. I'll be asking for the Fluro at my appointment later this afternoon

Earlier this week I had a really bad experience with a Fill. Long story short, they couldn't find the port.. Keep poking and prodding around causing extreme pain. Since then every time I eat, I feel pains around the site of my port, which seems odd to me. Should I be concerned and should I have it checked out?
