I was banded December 2006, I did very well and lost 100lbs, I ended up getting pregnant and now have a 2 1/2 year old son and all the weight to prove it, I gained 80lbs back lost 50lbs doing Isagenix and working out, then I quit smoking and gained 50lbs back again, I feel like I have spent my whole life trying to lose weight, I have learned to eat around the band and can't seem to control my late night munchies, I have decided today that it is time to stop feeling sorry for myself and try to get back on track, I have also decided to learn how to box which I start this Wednesday (super nervous) :-) Looking for a buddy to keep me motivated :-)

Hi LessLee, sory to here about your knee, how is everything else going with the bloating and pain in your port, are you smaller in your midsection, I could feel my port I think because I carry most of my weight in my lower half of the body and was told that that is probably why I feel it so much (less fat in that area for me)

The goal shouldn't be to see how much you can eat with the band, the goal should be to see how little you can eat with the band :-)
-
I drink vodka, club soda and mio I know your not supposed to have carbonated drinks but they don't seem to bother me, just don't drink carbonated drinks when you eat
-
Glad to here your doing well :-)
-
Let me know how you are when you have a chance :-)
-
Good nite and don't sweat it, you will do great :-)
-
I'm so glad he is staying with you, I hope he shows you the kind of compassion and care you deserve, I wish you all the best and feel free to contact me anytime :-)
-
I sent you a private message :-)
-
I really hope he comes around for your sake, there is nothing worse then having negative company, I hope you work out your issues with your husband or find yourself a stronger person and find someone who will love, honour and support you the way you should be xoxo

My husband was a little unsupportive at first, until I had a heart to heart with him and made him understand why I was doing what I was doing, he couldnt understand at first because he thought i was beautiful the way i was, I just told him that I want to look on the outside how I feel on the inside, I wanted him to have the wife I knew he deserved, and I wanted to have the life I know I deserved, but not to bash your husband but mine would not have even considered going away after my surgery or I probably would have kicked his ass!!! Is he maybe secretly jealous that you are going to look even hotter after it is all said and done, whatever you do don't let him bring you down :-)

Is your husband supportive of what you are doing, you will probably want someone there with you for the first 1-2 days

Why are you afraid to eat,Don't be afraid to eat, you are in the healing phase and they would not tell you to eat something you shouldn't, just follow your post-op diet and be positive, you need to eat for energy.

We often wonder where we go wrong with losing weight, the golden to to losing weight is holding yourself accountable, if you bite it, write it, if you write down everything you eat, you can see where you are going wrong, or have someone else review it and they can tell you where you are going wrong :-)

Eat off a bread and butter plate, half you plate should be vegetables, 1/4 of your plate should be protein and 1/4 starches. You should eat all your protein first then vegetables and last eat your starch, you probably won't be able to finish your starch. The goal shouldn't be to see how much you can eat with the band, the goal should be to see how little you can eat with the band :-) Don't look to feel full, look to feel not hungry (satisfied)

If you go out for dinner, avoid bread (it gets stuck easily) also if anyone comments on the amount you eat lie and tell them you had a big lunch and are not that hungry :-) people are usually oblivious when it doesn't concern them lol Biggest rule of eating is eat slow and chew well and always have a glass of water near by just in case something does get stuck, I was told recently by my band coach that the rules have slightly changed in regards to drinking while eating, it is ok to sip on small amounts of water between bites but never when there is food in your mouth, I'm sure other people will tell you differently but we were all banded in different places with different rules. I'm doing well today still on track, I have lost 6lbs since last Tuesday "yippie" I'm so excited about that, also I just got my boating licence so I am also pretty excited about that :-) I haven't made it to the cottage yet but hopefully on Thursday I will make it up, hang in there you are doing great, any questions always feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my knowledge :-)

Only 3 more days, I'm super excited for you :-) How is today going, you must be getting excited?
-
You are going to do great :-) No more second thoughts the band rocks, remember pre-op is the hardest part in my opinion :-)
-
You will learn to adjust your lifestyle to the band, personally there is nothing I can't eat,now I just choose not to, I just now am realizing that greasy food gives me serious gas lol, complex carbs make me feel bloated and also get stuck frequently but when there is a will there is a way, so now I just choose to not eat it, you should also eat all the protein on your plate first, then your veggies (half your plate) and last eat your starch, the protein and veggies should fill you up and you should not be able to finish your starch :-) I am doing well today, eating good and relaxing after a busy weekend, I think I may go to the cottage for a few days with my son to get away from it all and enjoy the nature :-)

I'm happy you got your test results and your surgery date is secure, I was away for a few days for my husbands work, I had one bad food and alcohol day but right back on track the next day, I'm glad you stuck to your pre-op diet at your meeting, how are you doing today?
-
How are you doing hollyjean?
-
Thanks I will certainly try, I defiantly have a lot to live for :-)
-
You will do great, I can't say you will never fall off the wagon or hit a few bumps in the road because that would be a lie, it is how you deal with the situations that arise that will make you reach your goals, the main quote that should be in your head is "never give up" your worth it, always remember why you are doing this, your health is #1, people like me who did it a lot younger did it to be skinny and that's why we end up starting over, we did it for the wrong reason and learn to eat around the band, now I have a 2 year old and want to see him grow up, graduate, get married and have babies, I want to be healthy, make everyday healthier then the day before, that's my goal.
-
I'm sure they will get the results in time just think positively it will all come together :-) Glad to here you are staying on track, this is the hardest part of your journey, think about it this way "you will never be this hungry again after your surgery" your already rocking it :-) I'm about 45 minutes east of Toronto, still pretty sore from the boxing so I went for a pedicure and a massage, sort of my reward "I deserve it" :-)
-
How is day 3, getting excited yet :-) I am a little sore today from boxing but its a good sore, my day 3 is going good I'm still on track and feeling great :-)
