  2. Mine was a 10 minute conversation with the guy. Easy peasy
  3. I asked today and I was told a month out. A glass of wine sounds heavenly to me. So next week, I am going to be a happy girl.

    Please don't laugh at me....

To do laparoscopic surgery they inflate your chest with gas to be able to see and work. That is the gas. It feels like pressure and pain. That being said I had no gas pain or pressure after my surgery.
  5. I was sleeved on 1/31/13. I am down 16lbs to plus 12 pre op and I am thrilled. I am down 28 lbs in 28 days. How could I not be happy about that? I eat 500-600 calories a day, I focus on high Protein low carb food. But, I make all of my own food. I eat eggs, pureed homeemade chili, ricotta bake and then I mix in some light greek yogurt and cheese. I feel great. Do I feel like I could eat more? Yes, sometimes. But I don;t. I use My fitness pal, track every calorie and I am happy with my progress. I would reduce your calories, drink more fluids and avoid processed foods like protein bars.

    Pain 10 days post op

Yes, I still have that pain and I am 3 weeks out. It is just a minor nuisance now. It is more sore on the days I do more moving. But it is getting better each day and my surgeon says it is normal.

    Hello from Marci!

I weigh myself daily but I only count it on Thursdays. I expect stalls and mid week gains and I am ok with it. This is a marathon not s sprint but daily weighing is a good habit for me.

    Post-op questions

I came home from the hospital up 10lbs. I lost those 10 plus 2 more week one. Week 2 I lost about 10.
  11. My surgeon says the exact same thing. He feels bypass is the best option. I wanted the sleeve and he does a ton of them very successfully. So, I got sleeved. If I ad more than 150lbs to lose I would have chosen the bypass.
  12. My name is Dana I am 39 from New Jersey. I have been married for 15 years and we have 3 kids, twins who are 6 and then. 5 year old.

    Desperate for protien

I did not have any protein the first 10 days. It's pretty common and my nutritionist was more concerned with me getting my fluids in. In order to feel a little better I would have apple juice 3 oz in the am and for lunch. Once I could have yogurts and puréed foods I was so much bettet
  14. I weigh myself daily but I only count I as a loss or a gain on Thursdays. Daily fluctuations are normal.
  15. I had surgery on the 31st too. I average 4 to 500 calories a day.

    But it hurts!

I had a hard time drinking in the beginnig. The first week, I could not get water down. Warm chicken broth went down the best. I drank G2 as well. The first week, I maybe got 20 ounces in. It was better by week two.

    does anyone have this problem

Have some apple juice You may have low sugar
  18. I chose the sleeve for a few reasons. One, I have significant scar tissue in my lower abdomen from my 2 c-sections. I was worried that my Dr would have a hard time dealing with it and my intestines safely. Two, I did not want my body rerouted and worry about malabsorbtion for life/ Three, everyone I know who had bypass more than 5 years ago has regained about 60% of their lost weight. Four, it just felt right to me. My husband is having WLS surgery in April. He is starting to lean toward the bypass from the sleeve. Reason being, he is 5'7 and 350lbs. He wants to make sue he loses at keast 125lbs. My advice, do your research, and go with your gut. Good luck!
  19. I take 200 mcg. Bottom line if your TSH is betwern 1 and 2.5 you should be fine.
  20. I 12 days post op. my inside still feel sore, like I was on a fight 12 days ago. I lost 12 lbs preop and my first week post op I only lost 2 due to all the IV fluids. I expect this weeks weight loss to be better. I weigh myself daily but I only believe what it says on weigh in day. I moved to puréed today and mashed potatoes were the best thing I have ever eaten!!
  21. DanaMomto3

    Oh mashed potatoes

And for dinner I made a pot of chili. I took 3oz and pureed it with chicken broth to make it a pureed soup. Beans, beef and veggies...YUM!
  22. I think I love you. 3 teaspoons just made me feel so good! Yay for puréed foods. That's all
  23. DanaMomto3

    Oh mashed potatoes

I had two weeks of liquids post op plus one pre op. Man, that was a long 3 weeks! But well worth it.
