    Going crazy

Everybody is different. For instance I'm 6'2" so I require a fair bit of calories just to function. If you're below say 5'5" it's going to be a little difficult since you require way less calories per day (about 25-2700) to maintain your weight. Just keep at it and try to create that calorie deficit. Takes ~3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 lb of fat.
  2. I had mine on the 19th, and I've been almost completely recovered except for a little bit of local swelling around the port. I'd talk to your doctor or at least call your BASNC.

    Regret

1st piece of advice: "Never give up! Never surrender!" ~Peter Quincy Taggart 2nd piece of advice: This is the part that sucks the MOST. I tell you what when you get to blended and soft you'll be feeling MUCH better and when you're back on solids, you'll feel VASTLY better. All of us have gone through this. You just need to take this day by day. When you start your full liquids, cream of wheat NEVER tasted better, I assure you. You'll get through this Pete. We're here to help.
  4. 64 oz of liquid is tough, My range is anywhere between like 30 and 50ish. I've never had 64 in a day. I keep out of dehydration though. Just make sure you're not showing the signs of dehydration.

    Hungry much?

I haven't been hungry since day 5 on the pre-op liquid diet. I've just been going with a schedule to make sure I eat.
  6. I know what you mean. You're on day 6, is that full liquids on your plan?
  7. You've got questions, we've got answers. Welcome here.
  8. Are you drinking enough to avoid dehydration?

  15. One thing that you'll develop is a very very keen sense of smell. Gives you an idea how our ancestors, the wild men of old, would hunt and gather food. I can smell EVERYTHING. Banders make the best hunters.
  16. I was actually in the hospital for 3 days. I had a reaction to the particular anesthesia they were using (pretty rare). I'd say you'll be in pain but mobile on day 3, starting to feel better day 4, and pretty much fine (with the help of those awesome meds) by day 5. That was my experience. Everyone's different though.
  17. I was recently banded. Best thing to do is just relax through it!

    Day 3

Day 3? Probably still just the anesthetic working it's way through your system. Everybody is different. During my stay at the hospital I slept for the better part of 3 days.
  19. I bet the grandmother vibe made you a bit more comfortable XD
  20. So here's my question. I'm about 6'2" and since your recommended intake of calories goes up as your height does. I was wondering if there were any tall people out there that can share their experience with me at the beginning of my journey here.

    Does size really matter?

For sure man, thank you. My band and I have our work cut out for us, but we'll learn and grow....or y'know shrink as the case my be.

    Does size really matter?

I thought it was a good title. XD We got some humor and some serious answers. Thanks to Cat, that was exactly what I was looking for. Being a tall guy and sticking to a low cal diet, this should work out just fine.
  23. It's just finding out what kind of person you are really. The first appt. should be a short interview then the second should be a type of personality test. They really want emotionally stable people undergoing elective surgery instead of people that will have issues post op. Wouldn't worry about it.
