Hey April '07 bandsters!! I was banded on 4/11 and I was wondering how all of you are doing so far!! I have done great and I hope you all are as well. Lets share stories. :help:For some unknown reason...I can not post in the Shrinking Violets thread anymore:eek: As long as I am not logged in, I can get into the thread and read all of the posts, but as soon as I log in, I get an error (just on that thread) saying to e-mail the webmaster@lapbandtalk.com to let them know of my problem. Good morning violets! TracyinKS-sweet oil, that is what I was trying to remember to use on my ears!! I am going to get some today. I am so sorry about your ears, that is horrible and I feel your pain sister! Hope they are better this morning. Mine are better but not 100% yet. Terri-I noticed that you said you hae had your 2nd fill from spivak. How much do you have in your band? I was banded by him the wek after you and I have had one fill so far. What prompted the 2nd fill? I can feel your pain too on the PB thing. I did it again yesterday so I am going to be on mushies today (again). Everyone...I have to admit I am kinda confused now on the carbonated drinks rules. I thought it was none whatsoever. Now I heari t is ok a month post op? Please tell me that is true!! I just wanna know the real answer because if it can damage the band, I will not do it. Yesterday I had a really emotional day. I attribute some of it to my TOM but I am missing bread SO bad! I am just so scared to try it that I have put it in my taboo catagory. I was just having such bad withdrawels yesterday...to the point of tears at one time. But I sucked it up and got over it. My DH did not really understand me being emotional over it and then I just told him "imagine yourself never again being able to eat a sandwich or hamburger for the rest of your life". He understood quickly then. lol I need to get off my butt and exercise...i talk about doing it and just can't seem to make the first step. I have looked at this post and it seems like I am kinda rambling, but that is the way my mind is working this morning, so just roll with me...haha My DD is just now waking up. That is a miracle in itself because normally she would have been awake 2 hours ago. makes me wonder if she is sick or something. Everyone have a great day... Tracy 231

Hi Denise, They gave me antibiotics and sinus pills, but the bad thing is I can't swallow the sinus pills because they are too big and I have a tough time getting them to go down. They can not be crushed since they're time released. Luckily I can crush the antibiotic. Nothing over the counter is working to clear up my sinuses. I am going to call the pharmacy and see if the can suggest something. So far Advil cold & sinus in helping a little, but I need something stronger.

Does anyone have any good remedies for ears being stopped up? When I went to my dr for my sinus infection they did not give me anything for my ears and now I can't hear!! Thanks!

Denise-My weight did the exact same thing...I stayed at 239 for 9 days. It will start coming off again soon. I was down to 231 this morning, so now I am waiting for the 220 somethings and I can not wait!! I had my first fill a week and a half ago and it is working really well...the fill did the trick for me. Have a great holiday!

Terri-I just realized that we are both Spivaks patients! Small world! And the swelling after PB did happen. I cant get hardly anything down but liquids & mushies...thats good though cause I went down 2 more pounds!! YAY ME!! e did not win at the casino, but I saw a man win fifteen thousand dollars. They would have had to call an ambulance for me if I won that much! Next time we go I will let you know and maybe we can plan to meet! Lunasa-If I had Oprahs money I would not have needed the band either. Personal chef, personal trainer, spas....it has to be alot easier to lose weight when you have all of that! Jenn-That sounds like so much fun. I have not been in a pool or anything like that in 20 years. I do not own a bathing suit...and when I get one, I am really going to have to work on my fears of being in public wearing one. It just un nerves me to even think about it. But, I will do it because life is too short to just sit back and watch everyone else live and have fun....i have done that way too long! But the idea of being able to play with my 3 1/2 year old daughter in the water will be my driving force!! I am waiting for my husband to come home and then we are going to the casino in Lake Charles. I can't wait. It is amazing how much better we feel about ourselves that we are losing some weight, isn't it. I just found myself smiling at myself in the mirror instead of feeling depressed. That is awesome. Jenn-I would SO be happy with anything in onederland!! It has been so many years since I was there. Heck, when I graduated from high school many moons ago I weighed more than I weigh now, so i am happy with my progress so far too. My mini goal right now is 220 something. Have fun with your mom!!

Terri-Luckily i was able to get a shot and the antibiotics are pills but i can break them in half!! Thanks for making me feel welcomed!! TracyinKS-you cack me up and thanks for the welcome! Schexy-I do not really have any secrets of losing what I have lost so far. I guess before I ate so many calories that now that I cut them inot a third of what they were, the weight is just coming off. I have not started exercising yet...I am WAY lazy! When the weight loss slows down, probably sooner than later, I will start walking...till then, I AIN"T:) DH and I went to a chinese restaurant after I got out of the dr office. 2 things happened there that have never happened before. #1 I threw up in their bathroom...yuck (mental note: no General tso chicken for me) #2..I left hungry.. LOL Take care all!! TracyTX 257/233/160 OOHOOH!! I almost forgot. The last time I ha been to my regular dr office In January, I weighed 269 and today it was 234 on their scales woooohooooo!! So I definitely think that the 12 pound loss from then to my pre-band weight loss counts. So that is a grand total of 34 pounds. COOL:)

Good morning everyone!! Could not go to work today. (breaks my heart, lol) but my cold/sinus infection is back with a vengeance. ow both ears are hurting so I probably have a double ear infection. I am going to the doc this morning. Bad part is I ill have to get liquid antibiotics instead of those big horse pills I wo't be able to swallow. Ugh, I hate liquid antibiotics...i would rather take a beating than drink that stuff, but if that is what it takes to get well, so be it. Maybe I can just get a shot or something. I am not looking forward to getting on their scales because they are always so much higher than the scales at my band dr office. The first fill I ot last week seems to be working well so far. I get full quickly. I am only taking in about 800 calories a day and the scale went down another pound this morning, so now I am at 233!! YAY ME!! That makes 24 pounds since the 4/11 band date. I can handle that!! Michelle-I know how READY you must be to be banded. I am so happy for you! I do not post too much, but I read everything. Sometimes I just do not know what to say because it seems like everyone is already close...so I get the red-headed step child syndrome...lol Sometimes it seems a little hard to just jump in and talk, ya know? Hi TracyinKS, I am feeling great! Thanks so much for asking. I am down to 235 My fill that I got last week seems to be working very well! here is the best news...never thought i would see the day i would be happy to have a cold, but now my taste buds aren't working!! That is awesome...before surgery I would hate to lose my sense of taste...now it doesn't make a difference to me. That proves to me that my outlook on food is changing. Everyone take care!!

OMG...gettting that diet ticker on here is so painful i would rather just stick a needle in my eye!!!! I read the instructions....my 3 year old is not here to confuse me, and I still can't do it. I thought i was pretty savvy but my goodness, i guess not!! So, (deep breath) forget it. :mad: I am down from 257 to 236 now!! woohoo! I hope you all have a great weekend!! TracyTX

Woohoo!! Got my first fill today. I am such a wimp. I was SO scared of the needle, but ladies, I did not even feel it! Now the barium was nasty, but I survived!! I am now officially filled 1.5 and i have a 10 band. I can tell the difference, even when i drink something. I love the band!! I know I do not post as much as alot of you but I read all the time and I am so glad that we have each other to lean on. I feel like I know all of you!! I am so happy this evening and I just wanted to share my happiness. (hugs)
