It's different for everyone. You're still probably swollen. Just keep sticking to your diet and you'll get there. I was slow losing weight after surgery but I've lost 46 pounds since I was banded on 4/18. You'll get there just keep at it!

Is it too late for me?
bryanthebigguy replied to josh41876's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just remember why you went thru it again. While I cannot relate to your health struggles I can relate to your eating habits. I got banded for my health which will allow me to be healthier, for my family, and be here longer with them. This is something that can't be instantly fixed. Start from the beginning. Baby steps. Start working on adjusting to it again and working on new healthier habits. I still struggle with it. From what you mentioned you lost 80 pounds. How did you do that? Just focus on what you did and focus on where you want to be. Good luck and we're all rooting for you. -
Emergency defill?
bryanthebigguy replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was a lot different during the fill. I had to set up while he put the Fluid in and had me sip on Water until it went down smoothly. But about an hour later I could not tell that anything had been added. But this was just my first one. I go back on Monday for my second fill. -
What do you weigh yourself in??

Straight from waking up, to the bathroom, then to the scales in nothing but my unders! Lower the weight means higher self esteem for me. -
Emergency defill?
bryanthebigguy replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to have 1 cc removed 2 days after surgery. My doc just said some people are more sensitive than others. I wouldn't worry about it to much. He put some extra back in at my first fill to make up for what he took out. You've just got to take time to heal. I can relate to being discouraged but I lost 22 pounds by the time I had my first fill so its still helping you out. Congrats on getting banded. -
First month weight loss
bryanthebigguy replied to cmjanssen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
By the doctors scales it was 22 pounds at my first fill which was 6 weeks after my surgery. By my scales it was 34. Obviously I like my scales better. Any lose is a good lose. I would say don't expect much and hope for the best. The first six weeks was the hardest for me tho because my appetite was fully back and it was torture trying to stick to the 900 calorie goal. But this is the worst part, and pardon the pun, but its all gravy from here on out! -

Im right there with you. My first fill is June 3rd. Just think a couple more weeks of will power then your band will start working for you. -
I've lost 18 so far and Thursday will be three weeks from my surgery date.

Was banded on 4/18 and I'm down 16 pounds so far. The shoulder pain wasn't fun but it will pass.

Healthy Weight Loss?
bryanthebigguy replied to bryanthebigguy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok sounds good. Thanks -
I weighed as soon as I got home from the hospital 3 days ago and it was 359.2. I've weighed everyday since then and this morning it was 346.1. I'm weighing every morning when I wake up at about the same time. I'm on a clear liquid diet for two weeks since I had a hernia that the doctor needed to fix. I'm full most of the time after a couple of ounces of liquids. I was just wondering if this much weight lose in that short of time was normal?

Healthy Weight Loss?
bryanthebigguy replied to bryanthebigguy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The doctor said I can go to full liquids after two weeks. I had a hyenal (spelling?) hernia he had to fix. He said I would be more sore for longer than usual. Thanks for the info.
