That's exactly why I was scared to tell anyone about it for the people that really matter. People think it's the easy way out and it ticks me off. We have to work just as hard as anyone else.... some people are like oh you have had it that long and only lost so many lbs and I smile and say yup how much have you lost? I get. Kick out of asking that because most of the time the people that say that are bigger people.... I hope you have a better week! :-)

The end of the first week I cried non stop for about 2 or 3 days because everyone else was eating like I use to and I was so jealous....but y mom sat me down and told me that I'm not going to be on liquids forever and that ill be able to have a bite of something soon and that helped me. No one really realizes how big of a change it is until you actually are put in the situation. Give it at least 1 or 2 more weeks...at least until you can start to eat again. I would so do it again because I feel better with just the little amount I've lost and there's more to come plus this site is awesome and you have super nice people that are willing to listen and give their advice.

HELLO! NEW HERE! Scared to try Lap Band! Any stories to go for or against would be SOO HELPFUL!
southernqt replied to CWinkler340's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been overweight my whole life and the lap bad was the best choice I've ever made! I'm 24 and didn't want the rest of my 20s to be worried about health problems and appearance. After watching YouTube videos and going to a seminar I found it was the best choice for me. I've never been able to lose over 20 lbs with just diet and exercise and the band helps you be mindful of what you're doing. I would recommend the lap band and would do it all over again. Plus I haven't had complications yet thank goodness. Good luck with your choice! -
PROTEIN max amout absorbed at one meal
southernqt replied to n2win's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So what I'm getting from all the information is no more than 30g protein per meal because that's the most your body can absorbed? So then you're getting a minimum or 90g per day? I'm just trying to make sure because I'm having problems with protein. What are some suggestions for food that has protein in it? -
Thank you and same for you! :-) did your doctor ever say how many lbs was a normal weight loss each month after you get to your green zone?
-
Congrats! Thank you sometimes it hard to remember it didn't get put on in a month lol. I'm glad to be able to talk to someone that is losing a little slower too but you're right losing is way better than gainingnthats for sure! :-)

Progress , 2 months - 42lbs Down
southernqt replied to fashionstylist's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow you can really tell the progress! These kind of threads are what get people motivated! :-) -
I use to wear a 9 or 9 1/2 but now I wear a 10 sometimes a 10 1/2 but I'm guessing that is weight gain. I have some Skechers and they are good but hurt after a few days. I'm going to check out the synergy shoes though :-)

Whoo hoo lol! I'm so glad to hear that! My fiancé loves the way I look but if you're not comfortable with yourself then it doesn't matter so I'm excited and looking for my confidence and sex drive to increase! I agree with your group too and I hope to be able to join soon! Haha!

That's what I bought was the jack links brand that was 15g of protein. It's pretty good.
-
Thank you deeberry :-) everything that is better for you is more expensive lol. Weird that the world talks about eating healthy but it's so much more convenient to get the bad stuff..
-
Where can you get turkey jerky at?
-
Nothing like that well not to me
-
Nope can't even feel the prick....I think the other needle would hurt a lot worse with them trying to find the port lol. U might feel a little pinch but it last for less than a second because that medicine really works quick. Ask him to use the doppler machine too. It's like a sonogram machine and maybe he can find it better that's what I had to have done the first time because he couldn't really feel it so he wanted to make sure he knew exactly where he was poking....
-
I don't ever feel anything but pressure from them trying to find it. My doc will numb it with lidocaine first but I was talking to a lady on here and she said her doc didn't numb her before sticking her...
-
Went for 1st fill, but dr. tried twice to find port...no fill
southernqt replied to Countryheart2000's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My port isn't under my incision they use a 10 cc syringe and measure from the end of my incision over and find it so its a little away from my cut...lidocaine I believe is what they use to numb or its what my doc uses to numb me and he will poke all around where he's going to do it so I don't feel a thing...you should not be hurting while they are trying to find your port that's a little crazy...
