Surgery on Friday, 21st...Anyone else?
singingoffkey replied to darr5380's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm also being banded on 9/21 and I'm very excited!! My doctor has me on all liquids since 9/14. You're a lot more ambitious than I am with all the cleaning! The hospital had me fill out all the health care documents, but I am very confident that things will do well. I've been waiting for quite a while to have this done so I'm at the point where I just want to get it over with!! Good luck. I'll post on Saturday. -
TeacherChick, I'm excited too! I am on liquids only this week, are you? I'm hungrier than I expected.

WASaBubbleButt, I think I'll join the bandwagon. Your posts are very helpful. I just started liquid pre-op and found your protein thread GREAT, especially since I thought the protein bullet was revolting. Now I don't feel any need to increase the protein to 40 (the more the better theory) and force it down. Thanks Also great weight loss inspiration!:clap2:

Normally, I read and lurk, today I thought I'd share my news. I got my approval from Aetna this wk --1st submission, so my date is confirmed for September 21, 2007!! I started the liquid diet today & had my meeting w/ the anethesiologist. I thought I was prepared for this part -- I bought protein, my magic bullet, etc, but today has been more difficult than I thought. But, I am really looking forward to being banded. This board has been so helpful for me, in making the decision, what to expect, problems, successes, recipes -- everything. I thank you all. Terry (Haven't set up a ticker yet.):clap2:

Hi! I just got my date September 21. Pending insurance approval, but my Dr.'s office feels pretty optimistic about it. I'm getting excited, but also slightly nervous. Not about the surgery itself, but implementing the changes. No water with meals is a struggle for me, but I have cut way back.

I've been considering the lapband for several years now & have finally decided to pursue it. My doctor is urging me have some kind of bariatric procedure because I have PCOS. I have heard that my insurance, Aetna, is unlikely to approve it, but I am ready to do battle -- I think. I dread the administrative process, but I feel prepared to use the band.
