I forgot to post again last week. My weight was the same, 172. Hopefully, I will have a loss tomorrow (and hopefully, I'll remember to post )
-
Forgot to weigh Monday. No change in weight - still at 172. My body seems to like this weight. Time to do something different to break thru this stall. Any suggestions?

How often do you step on the scale?
hockeywife91 replied to Guerml95's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I usually weigh twice a day. Once in the morning and then again before bed. I usually don't allow a small gain to bother me. It just motivates me to go workout and/or be more conscious of what I'm eating, ie. Protein first, drinking all my Water, etc. It keeps me accountable. -
CW this week 174 - won't be hitting my goal either. Losing only a pound or less a week isn't really what I was hoping for. Hoping the scale will catch up to my healthier eating habits and the abundance of exercise I've been doing. It's surely not showing it on the scale. Very discouraging.

I think I'm stalled . Still at 175. No way am I going to reach anywhere near my goal at this rate.

That darn scale is addicting. I changed a food addiction to a scale addiction. LOL I'm down 16 lbs and was sleeved on May 14th. I weigh daily, actually, I weigh several times a day. I'm participating in the 4th of July challenge here so I have to weigh in weekly. I think I'm going to stay off the scale, except for my once a week weigh-in. Maybe that will help. For those of you who are a little further out, did you notice if your weight loss slowed down or stayed about the same when you transitioned to soft foods? I've been on pureed, but my doc says I can start to transition to soft foods now, one meal a day. I guess I'm just afraid that by doing this, it will be more calories, therefore, slow down my weight loss. Any advice?

My band to sleeve journey
hockeywife91 replied to vjs87uk's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, I was revised on May 14th and I was terrified. But I'm still here and all went great! I couldn't be happier with my lil sleeve. I love it! -
I'm on pureed foods as well. I can eat fish, and I eat a lot of it. Baked of course! I also eat fat free refried Beans, fat free cottage cheese, greek yogurt and I have a Protein shake every morning for 30 grams of protein.

Full liquid phase
hockeywife91 replied to socalsweetheart87's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was able to have all of the above, plus yogurt, sugar free pudding and cream of wheat. -
Have any of you tried the Ricotta Bake by Eggface? I tried it last night and it was delicious. Perfect for pureed and soft food stage. I'm not a huge fan of ricotta, so I substituted the 1 cup of ricotta with 1/2 cup ricotta and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. It tasted just like lasagna without the pasta and meat. Delish! http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=1793517

Hello everyone. I'm a May sleever also. I had my revision from band to sleeve on May 14th and am loving my new little tummy. So happy to be off the liquid stage now! How is everyone else doing?

Do you have your gall bladder? Could be that. I'd see a regular doctor and have it checked out. It may be something totally unrelated to bariatric surgery.

Eating Pace
hockeywife91 replied to Unhappysleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried the eat slower app, its pretty neat. I should use it more often. Yesterday, I drank too fast and paid for it dearly. Today, I'm going back to using the eat slower app until I can become more accustomed to eating slower. I'm only 3 1/2 weeks post-op. Still learning -
I had the same thing happen to me yesterday while drinking my Protein shake. I wasn't paying attention and drank it way too fast because I was thirsty. Spent the next 45 minutes on the toilet...yuck! Today I'm sipping my shake and taking it very slow. Live and learn!

Trip post op.. Yes or no?
hockeywife91 replied to greatmommaof4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the others. I felt fine after surgery. I had very little pain once I got home from the hospital, but I was extremely weak and found it very difficult to get all my liquids in and to walk, which is very important. -
I had the band and paid about 12k for that, but was completely miserable with it after the first 5 months, which is why I revised to the sleeve. 28k later, I'm finally happy!
-
Which surgery are you thinking about getting? I paid about 16.5k for my sleeve.

How much could you eat 2 weeks post op?
hockeywife91 replied to TonyaNKy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'll be 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I just ate half a soft banana and I'm stuffed! At this point, like the others said, you shouldn't eat more than 2 ounces per sitting and never drink with your meals. Good luck! -
When food doesn't agree with your tummy?
hockeywife91 replied to Unhappysleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only 3 weeks post-op and just started on puréed foods and soft fish, but I noticed if I eat too fast or take too big of a bite my little tummy cramps up which tells me it's time to stop because it's quite painful. Fortunately, I've listened and the pain only lasts a few seconds. I can't imagine if it were to go on for any length of time.
