  1. Quick update - couldn't get hold of my surgeon (although I think the receptionist did from the message that came back to me). Basically told to stay on the soft foods, and if things get worse head to Emergency. He will see me on Tuesday as planned. This has made me feel a little better. If things were dire - he would have sent me straight to Emergency I think. I will see what he says on Tuesday. Thanks guys
  2. Thankyou both for your responses. I think I will ring my surgeon
  3. Hi Lap band talk community! I am a new member here. I was banded on December 7th and everything was going well until on the 14th March I was one of 21 people who ate scrambled eggs that had been contaminated by salmonella. I got sick - horribly sick, and aside from not being able to eat anything, the lining of my stomach would have been damaged. When I started to get better (thank God), it was like I wasn't banded. I could eat anything and any quantity - it took a lot to make me feel full. In hindsight I should have consulted my surgeon straight away, but I just thought we could discuss it on my next visit, which is next Tuesday. About two weeks ago, my stomach started to hurt. At first it felt like I had pulled a muscle but over time it started to feel like I felt straight after surgery. I have put myself on to soft foods (since Wednesday night), and there has been some improvement, but it is slow. I am concerned that during the period that it felt like I could eat anything, I have damaged the band. Does anyone have an opinion on this? I would love some feedback Thankyou!
