How fast was your Aetna approval?

    Mine was 2 days
  3. jdaughe5

    UPMC for you

Well I had a lap band in March of 2013 . My insurance at that time was Aetna. My approval took less than a week. O started having issues with my band in October- November 2014. I didn't see dr. Felix until middle of January. We agreed on revision to gastric bypass. They submitted my info to UPMC and I had approval within a week. I could have scheduled my surgery immediately but I needed to wait until April. I had to schedule around my busy schedule. And school breaks.
  4. Anyone have issues with dehydration? How long before you contacted doctor. I have been having terrible headaches(x 6days now)and notice my lips are dry. I've been tired easily but I have been getting fluids but obviously not enough. It's so damn hard getting them in between meals. I am 7 weeks out Gastric Bypass. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

    Issues

Your not doing anything wrong. This happens to just about everyone. Keep up with the fluids, protein and calorie recommendations and the scale will start moving again. I went 2 almost 3 weeks before the scale started moving for me.

    UPMC for you

I also have UPMC for you. And also go through Hope Bariatrics with Dr. Felix. I do not think they will have an issue with that. They want you to try and lose weight while on the 6 month visits to show that you are committed.

    Weight

Everyone loses at different rates. I lost 23 lb in first month. It the 3 week stahl and the scale just started moving for me again. I am 6 weeks post-op tomorrow. Oh I forgot I had revision from lap band to bypass.

    Did I make a mistake

Well I can't relate to the pre-op diet. My surgeon does not require the liquid pre-op. But there will be slip ups from time to time. You are still learning. The important thing is that you acknowledge the slip up and own it. Do better.. This is not a mistake. It's a first step to a healthier life.

    3 days until Surgery.

    Best of Luck!????
  11. Tomorrow will be 6 weeks for me. I revised from band to bypass. I lost the first 20lb in my first 3 weeks then nothing for 2 weeks. I kept up with the fluids which seems to be the hard part for everyone. Got my protein in and the scale started moving again. ????????I'm not in a huge hurry to lose so much so fast but if it happens then great if not I'm ok with that too, just as long as I keep moving toward goal. I just need to figure out how to eat and get fluids. It seems that when I am trying to get calories in and get fluids in I tend to feel like crap. I'm not hungry at all.., so I try to schedule my meals and usually feel blah.. After eating. I have made it priority for the protein and fluids not so much on the calories for now. I see my Dr on 5/20 and will discuss the yuck feeling when I eat. Best of luck & keep your head up. The scale will start moving again!
