Got a postcard in the mail from my doctor in Seguin that stated he was closing his practice in December 2009 and I need to find someone to send my records to. Does anyone know of a good fill doctor in the Austin or San Antonio office that will take a older lapband patient. My lapband will have been in place for 3 years in April 2010. I am 30 minutes from San Antonio and 45 minutes or a little longer from Austin. Please help! I am scared to death. I was sick in July and had to have all of my fluid removed so I feel like a newby all over again.

Getting fills without fluoroscopy...
rhinosmama replied to christy071707's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went thru the same thing a few days ago and ended up without a fill. I am so depressed. I am not sure what I will do next. He told me I would need to wait for about 2 weeks and we would try again with flouro. I don't want to wait. UGH!!!!!! -
Not yet. The tatoo is my 75 pound weight loss goal reward. I probably have a few more months. Maybe by spring.

One of my goals when I lost 50 pounds of my weight was to learn how to drive a motorcycle. I have always been a rider and had many stares and ugly comments about the "fat woman on the back". Well I have signed up at our local Harley dealer to learn how to drive in an all womens class and they even have a garage party a few weeks before it that is a womens only event where you can go in and ask all of the stupid questions you want without the people treating you like a total dummy. I am nervous and excited about obtaining one of my "non-food related goals. Any motorcycle drivers out there willing to give this newbie any advice? I am still needing to get some different gloves and a jacket which is a requirement when you are on the course (long sleeves). I am looking also for a motorcycle for me that would be a good starter type bike. Any suggestions would be helpful.:whoo:

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
rhinosmama replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I want to be a shrinking violet! I was banded on April 12, 2007. Where do I sign up? Becca -
I had surgery on April 12th and have had no problems at all. Alot of pain on the third day and then uphill from there. I have lost 20 pounds since surgery day when I weighed in at the lapband support group for our surgeon. I am even off on of my BP meds. Becca

I was banded last Thursday. I know I was told in several areas that some people were ready to go back to work in two-three days, but not me. The only area of real pain is in the site of the port placment, but I alxo had my gallbladder out and that does not even bother me. I am not sure when I will be ready to be back to normal, but I will be soon. If it wasn't for the port site I would not have any soreness or pain. I am planning to go back to work in a week though.

Boy you must have done great!:clap2: I am not far behind you just a few weeks. I have to stay overnight one night though because they are also taking out my gallbladder. I guess if that is all I have got going that we will do well. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Oh by the way great name. It is mine too. Becca(rhinosmama)

Pain in my abdomen right side
rhinosmama replied to libertysuzanne's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It sounds exactly like what I was having and now have to have my gallbladder out on lapband day. I know I have some triggers such as really fatty foods, or hard to digest things like meat. :hungry: I just posted a thread to find out how the recovery was when you have both done. Goodluck !!!!! -
Has anyone had the banding and gallbladder removal at same surgery? Did it make recoupe time longer?:help:

I am new to this site. Married with three kids, two of who are grown and on there own. I am due to be banded on April 17th of this year. I have been thinking about surgery for more than 7 years now. My doctor is Dr. Fath in Seguin Texas. Just waiting out the last few weeks and then going to move onto my new healthier life. Would like to get to know more people in my area that have had the lapband done or are planning to have it done.
