i was told by my surgeon, no matter how well i feel to leave working out til 3 weeks or so after surgery, your insides are swollen and sore and you wont help them by working them out....Im UK so maybe they do things differently, but it makes sense to me.... vickie xx 3 weeks banded :s

I got a call from the dietician on Wednesday and she asked me how my chat with the nurse went, she was pretty shocked when I told her no one has spoken to me since I left Dolan park, she eas very apologetic and said I should have had a couple of phone chats with a nurse!! So I'm feeling pretty hard done by at the moment and unsure if what to do.... I'm quite easy going and I don't wanna kick up a fuss especially since everything seems to be going ok with me, think ill just keep my mouth shut lol I'm totally prepared for this journey and the hard work it's going to take, it helps knowing I have you lovely ladies to call upon if I'm struggling Take care Vickie x

Awwww that sucks, not everyone is negative and sometimes I think things get taken the wrong way, it's tricky with the written word when you can't hear the sarcasm etc in a persons voice, but please stick with the site because with negative comment there is 100 positive comments I've only been banded for less than a month but I find this site invaluable, I read over previous posts to help me out and I'm always open and honest if you wanted a chat. I agree with most of the comments here , 4 months is not long in the grand scheme of things! And I am not out to insult anyone here but you do sound kind of needy! Let him spend time with his family, there will be hundreds of occasions where you will all get together. Don't take it personally that he doesn't want you to meet his brother yet, hey maybe his bro is an ass and he's saving you from him lol or maybe he just wants to ease you into the family bit by bit either way I'm sure it's all good. I just got my appointment through for a possible fill and the nurse says no solids 4 hours prior the appt and no liquids one hour before! Hope this helps Vickie xx

Hi there, banded on the 8th april. I'm 5'7" and my port is just under my breast bone, I can't see it but if I press my fingers I can feel it, plus it's under an incision so easily located! I'm in the UK but I'm sure we put the port where everyone else does lol Good luck Vickie xx

I am the opposite, banded April 8th no pre- op diet, but just finishing my two weeks post op liquid diet, ready for the mushy diet. I've been totally bunged up!!!! Very constipated,I'm taking a liquid senna to move it (sorry for the detail lol) My dr said the liquid diet is anything that will move up a straw, so soup smoothies juice etc . Peppermint!!!! I drank peppermint tea and it worked wonders, also walking about swinging my arms lol not sure you need the arm swinging but it kinda made me feel better I'm in the April club also, banded on the 8th, I'm in the uk and I know no one who has had the band, so I'm stalking all of you lol Good luck people Vickie xx
