They are fine. I'm so ready for this! How about you?

I have to apologize to Aussiegirl because I got her mixed up with AussieLady who is having a hard time. I am praying for her but hope Aussiegirl is going ok!

May 8-14 2013 sleevers represent!

Less than a week to go! -
I have had hard calloused feet as long as I can remember. I have tried so many different moisturizers. . If I use pumice or a file, it gets smoothe but comes back within a few days. Also if I get rid of the callouses, my feet get more sore from walking. So I am thinking the callouses are actually a defense against the weight. Have your feet gotten softer as you have dropped weight? I also get blisters from almost any dressy shoes, on the sides of my heels because my ankles are so fat.

No whole pills... chewables only?

Bumping because I found my answer to a question by using the search function and wanted to make it easier for others to find. -

How was your first pre-op day?
-
One week to go for me! I don't know if this will work post-op but I tried the Protein powder I got and its not gross! I added a tbsp to 100g of Greek yogurt and it didn't add any taste and doubled the Protein. Woohoo! I have to admit I was nervous. I haven't worked my way up to adding it to my coffee yet, I am afraid it would curdle. AussieLady I don't know if you still read this thread but I'm thinking about you today. I hope you have a good day today.

Closet Eater....and I'm coming out!

I'm so glad. I identify with the same struggles. -
I am in. Just tell me when and where. It will be my last pre-sleeve lunch! I am sure I will be totally self conscious about what I eat!

That sounds like such a hassle with United! Could you just go down a day early and stay at a hotel? Unless you got it sorted already that is. It was nice to chat today. Good luck on the three day diet.

Monday works for me. I'm being sleeved Tuesday! Puppyphat, I am sorry you are feeling that way. I hope you keep posting and keeping it real. What can we do to support you? Do you think it would help to talk to a therapist about this? You did this to be healthy and feel better, right? I hope things get better for you.

How are you doing now with this? -
My surgery is May 14 in Brisbane, Australia. I can't wait!
-
It's great to hear from you, Dean! Congratulations on your new gig. I hope we can have a Brisbane VST meet-up soon. I'd be happy to volunteer my home for this. I live an easy walk from the Cleveland line. I also work in the CBD and would be available for lunch or an afternoon coffee.

Acid is really bad. You can get a stricture in your esophagus (I have had this) or a pre-cancerous condition called Barrets Esophagus. Why did you go off the PPi?

what's the difference between something that fits and something that's tight?
mistysj replied to coops's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I'm nit a vet either but I know you are supposed to buy jeans a size too tight because they stretch. You can also squat fully when ou are trying them on, to get them to relax. I have often bought jeans that felt right in the store only to be falling off me after a single wear. In fact all of my size 20 jeans are doing that now (size 20 AU is probably some 24 US and I really probably could have worn a 22 US). -
I'm happy to see so many May Sleevers! Does anyone know how to be added to the May 2013 social group?

I find it hard to believe she still treats you that way. I would have such a hard time staying professional. Is she a good friend to you in other ways? I have a spreadsheet with my predicted weight loss and spots for the real loss. It is so detailed, even has all kinds of milestones like my uni weight etc. I showed my husband and he thinks I'm bonkers. In the spreadsheet it takes me 18 months to get to my goal. I wonder if it will really take that long. I wonder how puppyphat is doing.

Wow, Lissa you are 10 kg from your surgeon's goal! Congrats! Do you have another goal in mind? After all you went through I am so pleased for you! As for me I am so impatient for the 14th! I had thought I was 8 days away yesterday but it is really 9 days counting tomorrow. I have told very few people but my husband thinks I should tell my boss. He will be discreet so I will probably tell him tomorrow. The choices I have made about who I have told have been a bit random. My husband obviously. My mother. My best friend. Another good friend. My godmother and another lady at church. The office admin at work because she was confiding to me that she is having a hysterectomy and asking my advice. Everyone on an unrelated Internet forum I go to (but they don't know me in real life). It is weird how I have felt open to tell some people but not others. I feel the most odd about not telling people at work. But I am a manager and I don't want the focus to be on my weight but my work. I figure I will wait until I have lost enough weight that people are really noticing and maybe then I will tell. I guess they would look stupid being negative then. But maybe not, who knows!

Requesting invite to private support grouo forums?
mistysj posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I see a couple private support groups that look like they might be a good fit. I understand that I would need to ask to be considered but I can't figure out how. There is just a password prompt but no way to ask. I am on the iPad app.
