  1. Well ladies this is it! Hubby is eating breakfast then we leave for the hospital! See you on the flip side.
  2. I don't actually know. I have to be at the hospital by 7. I will update here as soon as I feel up to it. Just had wicked hiccups which sucked because I'm nil by mouth so can't use my normal remedy. Then I sneezed about 20 times. Wtf!?

  4. Thanks! I'm all packed and ready to go. Just had my last meal a couple hours ago and my last chug of Water just now. It's all sips from here on out, and nil by mouth until the surgery.
  5. Just had the best time meeting Kelli! Sorry that Dean and Shell could not make it though.

    May 14th!

I don't have a preop. It is weird high? My doctor doesn't require it for people under 100 kg (220 lb). He does require it for all band patients.
  8. I don't mind where we eat. There is a nice place on George Street called Ben's Alibi but they have really big portions. There is also a new Japanese place where Ajisen used to be but I haven't tried it. I do need to go to Medicare today though so at some point I need to be down at Queen Street anyway. That's the only Medicare office I know of in the CBD. Just txt me if there is a change of plans ni can't wait to meet you guys, but hope Shell feels better soon. My husband took me out for Indian food last night. Really nice. This morning he is making me pancakes and bacon. I think this is how he shows love. LOL Also I think there is an edge of fear that I may never eat normally again. I don't have that fear but I think maybe he does. Today is my last day of work. It feels surreal.

    May 14th!

I can't believe how close it is. About 30 hours until I'm checking into the hospital! My husband took me out for Indian food tonight and while eating, I realized it is probably one of the cuisines that will be perfect for the soft food stage. Just a couple months away. Not so bad at all.
  10. How are you doing, Susie?
  11. Why can't you just say you had a medical issue and you don't want to talk about it? If people, still ask after that, who cares about their feelings? "None of your business."

    %stomach taken out?

Some people also have longer or shorter stomachs so the sleeve may be longer or shorter in the end. There is scientifically no difference of results over a wide variety of sleeve volumes, everything from 4 ounces to 10.
  13. Why does every thread here turn into so much drama? Haven't we been insulted and torn down for being fat all our lives? Why do we have to do it to each other about every little thing? And why is it only the women? I never see drama in the man room. Even though I'm not a man, it is much more pleasant in there.

    May 14th!

My house is clean and laundry caught up! A few ,pre things to buy for when I get home. How about you?
  15. I'm starting to count the meals between now and surgery. I know it's silly and I will be able to eat everything again in a few months. I guess it is human nature. My house is clean and my laundry caught up. A few lady minute things to buy tomorrow. I won't lie, I'm looking forward to the anesthetic. Also my mom thought until today that I was having fat cut off my body. I made her go and read about the surgery. LOL
  16. People are uncomfortable when your looks change drastically and it seems so sudden. There also might be a shade of jealousy or guilt at their own weight. It will take a while for you to look normal to them again. Work with your medical team to decide your goals.
  17. Here is a paper: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2957340/ Here is another: http://web.reed.edu/psychology/hackenberg/pubs/Miras_et_al_2012.pdf
  18. Go to DFO and get some bras. They will only last a few months but that's all you need. When you are at goal you can go to Evie Boo or one of the other nice places and get some sturdy bras that will last you years.

    Surgery Changed to May 9th

Girl are you sleeved?? How are you doing?
  20. Lissa, you have done so well! I am sure you will be under 100 kg very soon. Have you tried using Protein powder or skim milk powder to fortify your milo at least? I understand stress at work too. I feel pretty exhausted at the moment too. I hope when I start losing weight I will experience the extra energy everyone talks about. Puppyphat, I have been thinking about you every day. Please come back and tell us how you are, even if it isn't sunshine and roses.
  21. How is everyone doing? I can't believe it is so close for me. And it will fly by. Here is what is going on this weekend. Saturday: concert with Queensland Wind and Brass at the Old Museum at 7:30 ams you're all welcome. $29. Sunday: brunch with my godmother, then some kind of a date with my husband in the evening Monday: work all day. Dietitian at 9 am. lunch with you guys. Tuesday: surgery! I can't wait for the two weeks off. If nothing else I will be able to rest a bit! I have not been trying to have food funerals but it seems like there has been lots of eating out. I am holding steady at 98 kg.
