Do you feel weird telling people exactly how many pounds you've lost?
MASSGUY replied to Comfy_Blue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost 80 so far bad probably have another 80 to go. I will probably stop saying a number. I feel so much better, but don't want them doing the math or saying wow you really were big. -
No pre-op diet. Is that common?
MASSGUY replied to chriskre's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't a pre-op diet. Just had to get to a certain weight for surgery, but no special pre-op -

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
MASSGUY replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I guess it's a good problem to have, but I have to go to a wedding and none of my old suits fit me. They are way too big. I hope I don't look too foolish! -
Weight Watchers-Curves-or home treadmill?
MASSGUY replied to shellbelle01's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on your new sleeve. I go to WW weeks to weigh in. I like knowing how much I'm losing. -
I had no pre-op diet. I did have to get to a certain weight before surgery though.

Good luck!

Did anyone have a last meal?
MASSGUY replied to jacquelynndiaz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will eat (most) anything you want after surgery, just not as much. That being said, I had a steak and cheese sub for my last supper. Good luck! -
December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
MASSGUY replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my three month check up with my surgeon today; surgery was 12/2. I've lost 60 pounds. I no longer need to take omeprazole and need to take vitamin B every other day. Loving my sleeve. -
Whenever I try to see my subscribed forums on my iPad, the app crashes. I can read my subscribed thread with no problem. I am running iOS 7.1

Joining Weight Watchers after Gastric Sleeve surgery.
MASSGUY replied to calicakes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I joined to have a place to weigh in weekly. No way do I plan on telling them I had WLS. -
any recommendations for getting the needle in the veins more easily?
MASSGUY replied to joydenstar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told them I'm a difficult draw and they called in the IV team. When I went for my colonoscopy, a year ago, they couldn't get a vein and they called the IV team. They told me to ask for them. I start to get really nervous and sweaty and start hyperventilating. Good luck. -

I know everyone's one NUT is different, but mine ok's TV dinners. I had the WW meatloaf. It is 19 g of protein. Sugars are low. Yes they have sodium, but sine I am now having little sodium; it is not a concern for me. They do have carbs but again, I am not consuming any other carbs. -
I'm not missing the popcorn as much as I am missing my large Diet Coke at the movies

I hope you feel better soon.

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
MASSGUY replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
12/2 sleeved - First postop with doctor and NUT. Lost 11 pounds since surgery and on to stage 4. That cheese stick tasted so good! Good luck to those who are yet to have their Dec surgery. -
I had one. I didn't even know it was in. I also was apparently urinating and didn't know it. It did feel strange coming out, but nowhere near as bad as I feared.

Sleeping On Your Side Again?!
MASSGUY replied to a_gray_'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't wait for my surgeon/NUT appointment on Friday so I can move to Stage 4. I was sleeved on 12/2. -
As teachamy said, "Lately, I have been looking at the eating habits of the thin people at work. Their choices are healthier, their portions are small, and they seem fine." I did this at Thanksging dinner when we went out to eat. I wasn't on a pre-op, but had to weigh in pre surgery at a certain weight so I ate light. Now I know Thanksgiving is an "eating" holiday, but I couldn't believe all the food. I don't want to eat like that again.

Best of luck to the both of you!

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
MASSGUY replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't believe tomorrow is one week already for the 12/2 sleevers! Doing well, but still can't sleep on my side. -
Congratulations!
-
Yes Pepper. I was sleeved at Mt auburn hospital. Good luck on your journey

Well tomorrow, 12/2 is my surgery. I am not nervous yet, but I'm sure I won't sleep tonight. I didn't have it as tough as some others and had no pre-op diet. However, I will have a drain and a catheter. I maybe would have preferred the pre-op diet instead. I want to thank all the "veterans" on here for all your posts on various topics. Your posts have convinced me I can do it. Thanks to Laura-Ven, RJ's Beginning, Lipstick Lady, Gamer Girl, Butterthebean, Madame Reverie, Fiddleman and many others whose names I have forgotten. We didn't necessarily share any threads together, but always found your threads and answers interesting and your willingness to always answer questions about the 3 week stalls like it's the first time you heard it asked. I will hopefully see you tomorrow on the loser's bench and Good Luck to all the other 12/2 sleevers as well!
