Hi solson, He just slowly peeled them off. It didn't hurt at all!! I too was told they would just fall off on their own but he wanted to take them off since I was in for a follow up. I'm glad he did! They were getting very itchy where they had peeled up on their own. Haha! It feels a little strange without anything on them though ???

Debpaige they are still sore and a little swollen. Thanks GuyMontag!! I will definitely wait till they are all healed up!!

Hi. Im just over a week out from surgery. I just got back from the Dr. It was basically a reassurance appointment. He said all the pain, gas, nausea etc that I am feeling is normal. (I knew that just nice to hear He took off my steri-strips. Yikes. Incisions look good and are healing nicely. I have been having the hardest time getting fluids down and the Protein is making me nauseas. He told me not to worry about the protein right now. Just focus on staying hydrated. He said the protein will come in to play later when I begin eating solids. That made me feel so much better. I feel like a weight has been lifted. And on that note...I've lost 21lbs since surgery. Wow! I hope everyone is doing well and feeling good!!

Hi. Don't worry!! I'm 1 week post op and I've been in my bed the whole time. I have lots of pillows including a body pillow. Honestly sleeping flat on my back or side (day4 and not on port side) is the most comfortable. Even on the couch I lay flat! ???Š

Ok so I'm 1 week post op today. I've definitely had good days and bad days. Yesterday I slept a lot. Felt good in the evening and horrible at bedtime. I'm having pain on my left side (port side) all around my ribs. I iced and was able to fall asleep. I feel very sore...like bruised all over. Is this normal? Also I am burping constantly!! Now I have pain in my chest when i take a deep breath. Burping seems to relieve it. Is this normal? Is this the gas pain everyone has been talking about? Sorry for all the questions. Newbie having a freak out moment!!

Everybody's instructions are different. I was told to have protein shakes as soon as I can tolerate. I have about 2-4 oz at a time. They make me very full!! My goal today is to at least get in 30grams. I felt so weak yesterday.

Thanks for the response. I'm taking it easy tomorrow for sure. Walk, rest, walk, rest. No cooking for the family, going to the movies or hanging out outside where bugs land on me. I hate bugs. Freak out with them. Very non healing friendly. Have a great night ladies!!

Ok so I may have overdone it today. I'm day 6 post-op. I bent over to swat a bug of my leg and OUCH!!! It hurt so bad. I believe it is where my port is. I saw stars. Now it's just sore. I'm going to ice because it looks a little more swollen then earlier today. Any advice?? I hope I didn't do anything to harm my band!! ???ž

Newbie Question - feel very weak
dee21 replied to txsonicguy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. I was banded June 11th. I was feeling very weak too. My bariatric nurse said to try protein shakes and pudding made with protein enhanced milk. It has helped tremendously. Go slow. I definitely felt a difference from clear liquids to full liquids. Good luck!! -
How exciting!! I was in the same boat. No Pre-op diet and about a month from beginning to banding. You will do fantastic. I'm not going to lie. I wasn't expecting the pain. But I'm on day 6 and feel soooo much better. I even went to the movies with my husband and son today. Crunched on ice. Felt like I was eating popcorn. Haha! My advice...take your pain meds...and walk, walk, walk!! Oh and try to get your liquids in. You don't want to get dehydrated. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Scared-someone tell me it's ok
dee21 replied to thirdtimesacharm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery June 11th. I also have right side pain...feels like gas. I had 1 normal BM then horrible Diarrhea last night. I ate Protein enriched pudding...maybe it was too much for my pouch to handle. I had Greek yogurt this am. So far so good...except really gassy. Burp! Walking really helps. I know it's hard went you don't feel well. But it helps. -
My Dr didn't require one either!! Just liquid dinner the night before. I thought it was strange too. But I'm 5 days post op and not having an issue with the liquids. I'm not very hungry at all!!

Way to go!!! That's awesome!!! -
Hello thirdtimesacharm. Welcome. I am a newbie here. I was banded on June 11th. How are you feeling? How did your surgery go? How is your pain level? It is so great to have buddies on here. After all we are all the same amazing journey!

I've been walking but I'm really sore! I will try the windmills. I didn't expect to have so much pain. Maybe it's because I had a hiatal hernia repaired too?
-
Same here...was told they'd fall off or my surgeon would remove at my 2 week post op apt. I'm 4 days out too.
-
So today is day three. I feel about the same as yesterday. Though I can get up on my own now. It's getting harder to take meds for some reason. It feels a little stuck or i can taste what i drink with the burps. Also the anti nausea patch made my eyes dilate. Freaked me out because I wear glasses for distance and have always been able to read with those glasses. But since my eyes are dilated everything up close is blurred. So, I removed the patch. How long did you guys continue on the anti nausea meds? I have liquid that I can switch to?!? Also, it seems harder to take in liquids today. Maybe I'm swollen? Well I'm swollen on the outside and I'm sure I'm swollen on the inside! I feel like I'm constantly forcing Clear Liquids down so I don't get dehydrated. I've also began drinks Protein shakes. I can only drink about 3oz at a time then I'm full. Any advice out there?
-
It is so strange all the different guidelines. Mine said to drink protein if I feel up to it. That way I burn fat instead of storing due to starvation mode. I'm on full liquids for 2 weeks. Then mushies for 1 week, then soft solids.

Are you guys still sore? I'm 3 days out and still very sore. The only gas I have is burps...lots of burps. Haha! My back is really sore too! The Dr said that is from the hernia repair. Didn't even know I had one. Any one else have hernia repaired? I'm wondering if it takes longer to heal?
-
Good luck everyone!! See you on the other side!!

Hi!! I had mine June 11th. How are you feeling? Im still very sore and a bit swollen around the port incision. I'm not able to drink very much at a time. I feel like I'm just barely staying hydrated. I get full extremely fast! I've been walking around the house...but it really hurts! I know...walking will help so I force myself to do it. My Dr. Said to alternate Tylenol and Advil. I know a lot of dr's say no to Advil but that's his protocol. Are you taking anything for pain? Any swelling? I hope your feeling well So excited to have begun this journey!!
