So, I have a tentative surgery date of June 17th!!! Super super excited! My primary care doctor already gave me the green light! I get my pre-approval blood work done tomorrow and my Letter of Necessity will be ready for me by this Friday. I do my psych eval next Thursday and my first dietician appointment next Wednesday. Hoping that my insurance approval paper work will be sent in by 5/20/13. Praying that the approval comes back quickly! My pre-op appointment with my surgeon and my cardiopulmonary test are on the same day (6/3/13). This is all happening so quickly and I am trying my best to keep my anxiety at bay! I decided to go with the gastric sleeve. Anyone else going in June?

Three Months to go !!

That is going to be the hardest part for me, learning how to eat slowly. I am forever in a rush. That and giving up club soda. I'm not a soda drinker because I don't like the sweet syrupy taste. But I love the bubbles. :-( -

That would be awesome. I would love to do that! There's a girl that does one on YouTube named BandedWendy. She lost a TON of weight. But I'm so technologically stupid I'd never be able to pull it off! LOLOL -

HAHAHA! Me too! I've been researching this for over a year! I finally decided this is the road I need to take. I can't even tell you how many videos I've watched. And I've read everything from the pros to the cons, the good, the bad, and the ugly! But I'm finally ready. -

I do not yet have a surgery date. I go in for the seminar next Tuesday at 6:00pm and I'm hoping that from there, everything is smooth. I already know I qualify for the surgery. I went over everything with my insurance company today and it's pretty cut and dry. My issue really is going to be two things. Whether or not they are going to make me do a 6 month pre-op diet (which I'm praying they don't. My insurance company said they should not) and whether or not they will work with me for the 20%. I am so nervous but I am such an avid exerciser and I know how to eat but I just have not been able to lose this weight :-( I just ran a half marathon at Disney World in Orlando in February. With the way I exercise, I should look like a friggin toothpick. I have no thyroid issues or any other medical issues that are causing me to gain weight. But this weight is really hurting me. I can't sleep without my hands and arms getting numb at night. The constant acid reflux, I can't even shave my legs without getting out of breath anymore. I feel like such an embarrassment to my hubby and my kids. They are so great and always tell me that I'm beautiful. But I don't even look like myself anymore. Before my first husband died (11 years ago), I was in great shape. And after he passed, I just let myself go slowly but surely. -

@twittlingann, im hoping it happens that quickly for me, too! From the looks of your stats, you and i seem to be starting at the same place and have the same goal! Did you have to pay the 20% up front or are they working with you as far as a payment plan? -
Wow!!! AWESOME!!! So lucky! I still have go to the pre-op seminar then I'm praying the rest of this goes quickly and smoothly.

Hi, everyone. I'm so anxious to be in all of your shoes!! I have the seminar next Tuesday and then I have to go through the whole rigamarole of getting this passed through my insurance. I'm praying that this will be a relatively short process. -

Hi, all! @ twittlingann, did you have to pay for the band yourself or did insurance cover it? -
I'm so jealous of both of you. I'm still pre-op. dreading how long they will make me wait til I get approved and can actually get my surgery. I wish you both the best but NEVER GIVE UP!!! You CAN do this and you WILL do this!!!
