Anyone here take paxil before & after VSG ? The pharmacy said that the pill can be crushed but is also available in liquid. Most of my meds can be crushed. Just wondering what the census is for Vitamins & meds should I get everything liquid or just crush? I was leaning towards liquid but not sure . Any thoughts ? Also in the case of meds that have to be taken everyday how does that work with the sleeve? :/

I was sleeved 8/6/13, I wanted a cocktail or glass of wine but was afraid of calories & sugar over load. I tried Skinny Girl cocktails by Bethany Frankle. Google it! She has a handful of wines & liquor. Some of them have lower alcohol content then normal cocktails but the taste great! I was about 3 months out before I drank. I went out with a friend and had a couple cosmos & realized quickly that liquor is no longer my friend! I can handle the skinny girl mixers & wine only. But real deal vodka is no good for me it floored me & made me feel horrible. I agree with the other posters try at home first. I used to be a beer drinker but have not had carbonation yet. I was going to wait until year out before I have a beer.

Hey all August peeps~ I was sleeved August 6th, highest weight was 240, at start of pre-op I was 237, day of surgery I was 222 and fast forward to this week I am 160. Went from size 22 down to size 9-10. Feel great for most part. No regrets! Lv my sleeve. Do have few concerns, weighed myself last Thursday I was 155... Then again on Saturday & I was back up to 160 :/ how the hell did that happen? Also starting to loose a lot of hair . I also have these random dizzy spells, that make me feel close to passing out. Then I get shakes & bad headaches following the dizzy spells. This has been happening on & off for past few months. It's random but when it hits it floors me for few days. Anyone else that is six months out have any of these issues ? I had my six month labs done but don't know results yet, meet with surgeon for six month appointment next week. Anyone have labs done yet? Eating around 800-900 cal. Keep things low fat & low sugar high protein . Sometimes feel depleted . But again I feel so much better then before surgery & would not change it for the world . Six month mark & I'm proud just have few concerns. Any thoughts ?

Time of month- at time of surgery
eyengo replied to loveelaura's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No worries same thing happened to me. When i went for pre admission testing I talked with them about it. They said no tampons because that have to put in a catheter . So you pretty much ware a pad until you get settled for surgery. I remember being out of it and telling the nurse and as uncomfortable as it was she kind of put a pad on and extra padding on the bed. Once the foley comes out your good to go . Just talk with the or nurse & any other nurse you will have they are good about it. -
Hello~ I started the whole process a year ago . My first consult I was 240 - 12/2012 Started pre op diet 7/23/13 @ 237 Day of surgery 8/6/13 @ 222 As of today 12/18 @ 164 I did have a couple of weeks of low blood pressure 90/58, then dropped to 80's. my orthostatic bp was all over the place & really low. Told me to hydrate more. They thought originally could be vertigo but just ended up low bp. Was/ am worried I am loosing too fast :/ trying to slow things down a little. Labs look good so I am just plugging away. Anyone gave blood pressure issues after surgery?

Hello~ I am new to this site, have not had surgery yet but will be done with my six months soon. I am 50/50 between VSG & RNY. I have been on the VSGTALK site so I decided to switch over & see the other side/ option. Getting excited & nervous, almost time to make the big decision & hope everything goes smooth with the insurance company. Looking at June or July . Any helpful hints are welcomed.

I called bariatric coordinator this morning & she said it should be fine because I was already approved for RNY , they will just resubmit for sleeve. So stay tooned :/ I do not want Rny & hope all goes well with sleeve approval.

Little nervous, have everything set and ready to go but the surgeons office submitted aproval for gastric bypass with a 6 day stay in hospital :/ I want to have VSG not RnY. I wander if they just submit the most invasive just to see ? I have not seen surgeon in months. He said at that time , I didn't need to make a decision on what kind of bariatric surgery I wanted. I was still on the fence at that time . Going to all office first thing Monday but has this happened to anyone else?

I feel the same :/ but I told people because I have hid behind all this weight issues for so many years that at this point screw it this is my life and I have to do what I feel is best for me. With all that said I still feel almost embarrassed or shame:/ think some family members think it's a faze. A friend ... Well old friend said " wow, what's wrong with good old fashion diet & exercise ". Seriously come on people. I just try to shutt it down. Chin up , time for you -
Hope to have my surgery June or beginning of july. I feel like the shakes & vitamins could break the bank should I start buying some stuff over the next few months? I have read of the possible taste changing but what are some things that can give my stash a head start? Vitamins were just on sale BOGO at my local grocery store. I didn't know what to get. Any helpful hints? I can not afford $50.00-$100.00 a few weeks for shakes & vitamins. Are any of the supplements prescription or covered by insurance ? What are some cheap but good protein shakes or drinks?

It's gotta be like "fantom pain" when you lose a limb??? Kind of sort of ?? :/

Yes I agree, they are really good. I also found " life's choice" at Walmart edible not too bad and they are almost $3.00 cheaper then other brands.
