I usually crave ice a lot when my iron is low.
-
I felt the same way, but once you get some fills, bread and pizza are much harder to eat. Knowing how bad they make me feel makes me crave them much less. Also...I was just plain hungry all the time ( it seemed) until I had my 3rd fill last week. Now less food satisfies me and I stay full for much longer. I wasn't sure I really believed in the "green zone" until I hit it. Just hang in there and if you feel like having a slice if pizza and you track your calories and have an allowance for it...it should be fine. Good luck!

I noticed it in my belly and my feet first. It was so nice to have my shoes fit me better and not struggle so much to get them on.

Usually it is outpatient, but I've seen a few people on here that stayed overnight. -

Dr. Voellinger is great! He was my surgeon, so you must live near me. Good luck with everything! You are in good hands! -

You look great! Congrats to you!

I can't believe you had staples! I didn't even have stitches. They used this surgical "super glue" which was the coolest stuff! Glad you are doing well!
-
So happy for you! I can't wait to feel like that, too!
-
Sounds like you are ready for this and are doing great! Good for you! I wish you the best!

Sugar free jello is also great to have on hand. It will make you feel like you are actually eating real food amongst all the liquid...but is still considered a liquid, so is allowed. Good luck!

I walk 30-40 about 6 days a week and I try to keep my calories around 1200/ day. I am hoping to up my workouts and hopefully do better over the summer when I have more time.

Anyone on here from the Charlotte area?

I was banded 12/6 and have lost 35 pounds. I went through a 2 month plateau where I kept losing and gaining the same 3 pounds. So discouraging...but I'm still trying! I am hoping to do better over the summer when I'll have more time to work out, etc. I'll get there slow but sure! -
Just stick with liquids for a day or 2 to help things calm down. Hope you're feeling better soon!

This is what "ONLY" 30 lbs down looks like:

That really helped me! I've been upset about only losing 35 pounds so far and your pics just showed me what a difference it makes. I guess I am just going to be one of those slow losers...but every bit counts! -

You and I started around the same weight and have similar weight loss goals! I am hoping to be a success, but will be a very slow one. I am really struggling to get this weight off, but am not giving up! Good luck with your journey! -

Just Starting Questions
Erica313 replied to sstemple's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have BCBS and still had to go through all of the Dr. appts and consultations and be cleared by nutritionist, exercise and psych people. It took around 6 months for everything. -

Sounds like you are too tight. You should go see your Dr. -
Yay! Someone in Charlotte! I moved down here from Niagara Falls, NY 12 years ago. I love the weather here! Weight loss is very, very slow, but I'm not giving up.

Full liquid question
Erica313 replied to LeeAnnfromNC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never measured my liquids. I think it takes more liquid to fill you up since they just run through you. Just have enough to feel satisfied... well, at least as satisfied as possible since liquids are not very satisfying. -
Is my band too tight?
Erica313 replied to Deleted Account 2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds like you are too tight. I didn't think I was too tight, but got stuck and blocked and had to have half of my fluid removed. While I was there, they asked me which foods I was having trouble with and was afraid of. They said that we should be able to eat things like meat, etc. without much issue. Get a little fluid out and you'll feel so much better! Good luck! -
Last night I was eating dinner...pork chops and mashed potatoes. I did really well for the first few bites, so I decided to have a little more. BIG mistake! I started getting the feeling that I was too full. It was almost like the feeling where you feel like something is stuck...but if you wait it out it'll pass. No pain, just some burping and a little uncomfortable. 3 hrs later I had a sugar free Popsicle and had trouble getting it down. I drank some liquid and threw that up along with the Popsicle. I thought that would make me feel better, but this morning I still can't even keep liquids down. I'm afraid to call the Dr. Because I don't want them to take any fluid out of my band or stick a tube down my throat. My band is NOT too tight. I'm only on 2nd fill and have been doing very well with it for weeks now. Anyone know what might be going on?

They got me right into the Dr. Office and removed half of the fluid from my band. I feel like a new person!
