Life of being heavy
I have been obese since I was 10; which has been very hard through out these long 16 years. I have only known myself to be overweight and the horrible things that come along with it (teasing in school, not wearing the "cute" clothes, etc..) I have tried many ways to loose weight like the weight watchers programs, seeing a specialist, going to the gym constently, taking diet pills, etc....
When I turned 25 is when I decided that I need to make changes and I need to do them while I am still young and healthy (besides obesity) so that I do not hit the huge hurdles of high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, or even the horrible physical strain the extra weight can put on a body. With all of this hitting me it didn't help that my husband was deployed during my down times of learning that I am just not acceptable at the weight I am if I want to keep up with him or our children. My doctor opened my eyes and told me that I need to do something about my weight (301) if I wanted to have another child and have no complications. All of those factors is the reason I have chose to get the band.
I have been pretty lucky so far with no health issues; but I am not okay with looking into the future and having to look at those porblems being in my future.
I wish everyone well with their wonderful journey; and I hope that I will get to meet a lot more people getting the surgery since I know that a support system definitely helps with the process.
