I feel for ya! We're all in this together! Now if i could fast forward 18 days and get my band
-
Unfortunately, if you do look at the thread SOME members decided to stray off course, but no need to generalize.
-
Betsyjane, i don't appreciate the last post if you actually GO BACK to it and see what someone has actually responded to your post you will see. Just a thought. RESPONSE: I understand but i am not talking binge drinking - i want to know if it is possible to drink one or two beers when i am out with friends ME: Now what do you say to that....jeez because we are young we are less responsible right....god, all black people are crooks and jews are cheap too! (SARCASM PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!) The thread is for peer support....its not about ways of getting drunk. Why do you think the guys have a thread on the boards...to discuss football?? No, its LBT, so we look for people we can share commonalities with.

WOW, i'm a health science student, hopefully medstudent to-be. I guess you learn a lot about people when you work with them...especially when they come to you when they do something stupid, you can learn much about how some people are stupid. I like the one about the falling on the flashlight...please don't tell me people still use that line. Oh doctor, i tripped and fell on the flashlight and now i can't remove it from my rectum. HAHAH
-
Yeah, ouch.....i never thought those things would happen....can't be fun.
-
HAHAH honestly! dyslexi is a little too quick to judge others. Maybe she should get a dictionary.
-
I dont know...i guess its through trial and error they think this is better then opti fast or any other method...but i dont know...it WILL be hard but yeah, i will strictly follow it, because its for my own good. I even asked if optifast was better....cuz if it was i wouldve paid...but they say no. So at least theyre not doing this optifast for the profit. And it seems like they want the best diet for my safety and to shrink my liver. I have faith in them.

yeah i hear only great things about benefibre... i mean its colorless, odorless, tasteless...how can you go wrong lol. And yeah...metamucil sounds gross. I dont think im ever buying that
-
Oh, and this is my pre- op For me its 10 days *quantities are not specified, you can have as much as you need of the following items. You may also have foods that have negligible caloric or nutritional value such as the following: coffee, tea, diet drinks(crystal light), sugar free jell-o and salt & spices. This is the diet Cottage cheese -choose low fat or non fat varieties Yogurt -Opt for low fat or non fat yogurt. Flavored yogurts are acceptable, as long as they are artificially sweetened Milk -Drink 1% or Skim, flavored or sweetened milk is NOT a recommended option Water -make sure you drink a minimum of 1.5 liters a day.
-
How would you rate orange?
-
As per the benefibre, do you just take the normal dose or what....like 1 teaspoon 3 times a day or what. ( i don't know if thats a dose...just giving random number)
-
But to you which flavor is better of the 2? I will probably buy it.
-
THANKS A LOT for your input!! thats why i love this forum so much, people who have gone through it can tell you from personal experience...plus from posts i know you're a nurse, so thats great too! So yeah, i will be taking benefibre and i dunno if i will like the adult chewables, i usually don't like flavored stuff that is supposed to be good. Aka Flinstones..never liked them, or cherry cough syrup or all that stuff...oh well just like a lot of things i will have to do for the band...suck it up even if it sucks (i.e. pre-op diet...which i am SOOO not looking forward to lol)
-
alrighty thanks! I thought it was only with RNY that patients didnt absorb all they needed Is it because of the lowered nutritional intake that we need to take Multivitamins? Because we absorb the same way. Also, how do you take the multivitamins?? chewables, liquid, crush some that are whole? What brand is your favorite. Also i was hearing people talk about benefibre, is it important to take that? Does it do good?

Do Not Go To Betencourt Medical

Obviously the story was too long for her hahah, cuz she didn't read it...or maybe just didnt understand -
Yup, we'll be banded 10 days apart!!! We will pretty much be in the same stages... good luck and i hope everything goes well for you too
-
I'm no expert, i'm not even banded....but that pretty much sounds like PB...a productive burp. Edit: It's what happens when something eaten can't go down due to restriction has to come back up
-
Thanks for that, yeah i never ended up doing it...it wouldve cost some hotel rooms, travelling...not even worth it. By that time i felt way more comfortable with TLBC. And thank you for reassuring me of that decision. I DO feel good about not going there. And yup...i'm all booked up for surgery soon! May 4th, cant wait.
-
wow! great transformation!

Heldie, i know what you mean! Just watch the preview of that documentary on PBS, the doctor's quote in there goes along the lines of: 'I don't think people appreciate the delicate balance of hormones and how HARD the body fights starvation.' It's like when we try to lose weight our body goes into survival mode and fights us every step of the way, when you lose you usually regain...our body is holding on to that fat for dear life. I remember a while ago this TLC special about a guy who had lost a HUGE ammount of weight...i'm talking like over 500lbs. And he was on all the news and bla bla bla....evertything is great. But then people forget about him, and he slips back into his old habits....soon enough he's back to his old weight and then some. Just to say, there are all these cases of people losing weight out there, but if you go and look at them now, when people aren't documenting them....i'm sure a few of them are not doing great. And still...people will quote their stories as success stories, not knowing how they are actually doing now.
-
If people feel comfortable, I think some before and after pics would be great!! It's nice to see the b4 and after pix on the main forum..but seeing someone from your own age group, you can relate more. I have some before pictures, but i'm not banded yet so...hopefully in a few months i'll have some good during pictures.
