  1. Terry called blue cross and it was them. I started having serious doubts!! But the info was so weird that she was giving me. My car just broke down on the way to lunch and the 4th cylinder wasn't working?? Anyways got my car fixed, but am way behind in errands!!! I am glad it wasn't anything too expensive! Started TOM today also!! What a day!! YUCK! Jenn, I agree with what Terry said about people passing over alone. Two times in my life that has happened to me. Once I went with my best friend to have dinner after a long long siege in the room and while we were downstairs at dinner her husband died. The other time was when a friend of mine was dying and his partner went to lay down, and I told him I would stay with Don, and after about 5 minutes he died. Both times the nurses said that was how it happens alot!! Hugs to you are your family as you go thru this!!! TracyKS, I don't have hair on my lip, just on my chin!!! People usually get their hair on their eyebrows and chin done, very rarely do they do their lips. I personally don't do waxing, but the girl next to me does, and I have NEVER seen anyone get a rash/blisters. I think that your best best is a depilatory. I have used it on my chin and it works well and doesn't smell too bad. ((terry)) The snow we got Friday is gone!!! It is 77 degrees here!!!!! I think we got 10 inches of snow! Long post, sorry!! Jane
  2. Judy you are being GREAT!!! Very foggy here today, wanted to sleep late, but got a call about my health insurance premium. It was an odd call about the auto payments I set up? Didn't set any up. But know she was from Blue Cross because of some of the other things she said and I asked, strange. I think my mom and I are going give up candy for lent. Okay off to start my day!! Jane

I got an email my flights were changed also, but it is the connecting flight in Houston to San Antonio. I leave St. Louis about 10 minutes later. No big deal, but made me panic when I saw an "URGENT" email from expedia!
  4. Wow, left for brunch and church and boy!!!!! HOW SCARY TRACY!!!! My dad passed out once a few years ago and I was totally in a panic!!! He was fine, it was just some new bp medicine he was on, but oh my gosh!!! Kat--bubble wrap!!! Brunch was sssooooooo good. Oh my gosh!!!! 16 of us went to Harrahs buffet the casino is not new, but they changed up the buffet, oh my gosh is all I can say!!! Yum is another word!!!! Nobody gambled, just went home. If you are ever in St. Louis I know a good Sunday brunch!!!!! Okay my mom and I were talking and we were thinking of no candy for lent. How does that sound?? Off to do some pre income tax stuff. Being self employed is great until taxes are due!!! Jane
  5. Hugs and prayers Jenn. Expedia just sent me an email telling me to call them because my flights have changed. Great! I think I am going to call when I get home this afternoon. Might be stressful. Jane

  7. Judy loved the tip of the day!! Terry thanks for the urging for ctc today!!! I made it. I am going to bed, but afraid tomorrow will not be a ctc day!! Suzie, thanks for the water patrol!!!!!! Have a good night and thank you all for being GREAT violets!! Jane
  8. TracyK love the ticker!!!
  9. Jenn, I hope things transition for your Grandmother smoothly. It is sooo hard to watch someone you love go through this. Prayers and hugs. Drinking my Water now! Usually I drink a lot at work, but today it was just cofffee and more coffee!!! But I take it black does that count?? My weight has been around 239 for about 2 or 3 months now. I am really fed up but it is all me. Where was my motivation last year when I was losing. I am thrilled with all that I have lost so far, but I feel like I am stuck right now. I don't want to be the statistic the Dr. talked about when she she was referencing the band vs. bypass. She said the people with the bands usually didn't lose all their weight, I believe the % she gave was 50% of your weight, but they did a better job at keeping it off than the bypass patients. At the time I thought that was great, it didn't matter, but here I am with about half my weight gone and as my neice would say "I stuck". I am probably just feeling sorry for myself this week and maybe pms~ing. I have never given anything up for lent. I am Presbyterian and we just gave money during lent. Maybe I should give up something. Sugar is too encompasing, so if anyone has any ideas I am a good follower!! As long as it is something I believe I can do!!! Okay enough of my pathetic poor meees. Have a good one!! Jane
  10. Terry, count me in, I have been bad the past few days, weeks, months whatever. Yesterday I had to get an unfill. Don't know why all of a sudden I was too tight!! I am off to work, and will eat VERY GOOD THERE, plus when I come home I just might got to bed so I don't have the urge to eat!!! I have been bad, so bad. I need today!! TracyKS, the PIXS SHOW YOUR FANTASTIC HARD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU LOOK GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! Well off to work, been super busy the past few days and haven't posted. Jane
  11. Jen sounds so good with the job!!! Purple power!! 192 The cheese dips sound good. I love that velveeta dip with the hot spicy sausage!!! YUM!!! It is hurting my stomach just thinking about it. 192 My doctors office called today (one week later) and said it sounded like my band was too tight. I wonder, but am willing to see. But, I have been in such a bad place weight wise this is not good to be unfilled. But I am willing to keep an open mind and maybe this is what I need. 192 Have a good night!! Jane
  12. Congrats Jenn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know the bad thing about planning early is waiting.....
  16. I have to admit most times I use what the tv dinner comes in. If I cook which happens on occasion I don't like my food to touch, so I use a sep. plate for everything!! I am soo neurotic!! Hope you feel better Haydee and laura! Jane
  17. We had interesting weather yesterday, when I went to work it was 73 but as the day went on it ended up being 13. We had tornado warnings, hail, sleet, rain, snow and lots of wind. Nothing terrible just an very odd drop quick drop in temps with stange things along the way. I haven't lost any weight in about 3 weeks, it is kind of frustrating especially since I have been having some issues with my tummy. The Dr.s office still hasn't called me back. I called and left another message... I do think it is better though. My sister who is a nurse told me to take 4 Zantac morning and night and that is helping. I am sleeping better, and that was my main complaint. I probably have the most to loose, but I have not lost the most weight. I am not complaining about the weight I have lost, I am very very happy, just wish I could kick start something in my brain or somewhere that would help right now!!! Here is the tip of the day, although I liked Terrys so much I printed it out and think I will post it where I see it every day!! Thanks Terry!!! Tips to Feel Satisfied With Less Food Did you know that simply changing the way you eat could help you to feel more satisfied after eating? Notice I used the word satisfied, not full. There's a big difference. Full means, "I'm really stuffed." Satisfied is simply, "I'm no longer hungry." Satisfaction is actually a learned feeling. Many of us in fact feel satisfied after eating only half of a meal, but we don't recognize that feeling because, instead of pausing, we go on and eat to fullness. I am still part of the clean-plate generation — that's just how we were brought up. But now we need to change our thinking and learn to recognize what it feels like to be satisfied during a meal. If you stop when you are satisfied, you will eat less food. Try some of these tips to help you feel more satisfied at meals: Use smaller plates and bowls. This trick actually fools your mind into thinking that you're getting more food. When you see a plate (no matter what size) brimming with food, you're already thinking, I am going to be satisfied after this meal! Smaller plates mean that your portion sizes will be smaller and you'll eat less food. Eat your meal slowly. It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to get the message that you have eaten enough and to then communicate that feeling of satisfaction (or fullness!) to your stomach. Put your fork or spoon down between bites of food, talk with others at the table, chew your food thoroughly, and drink liquids during meals to slow your rate of eating. Drink plenty of non-calorie beverages each day. Interestingly, the feeling of thirst can sometimes impersonate that of hunger, so make sure you are drinking enough fluids every day. Change your eating schedule, or create one that works. Skipping or delaying meals can result in overeating. If you skip meals often, try to eat on more of a schedule. You will then feel more satisfied with what you do eat. Enjoy your food. Take the time at meals to simply enjoy what you are eating. Taking pleasure in what you eat will help you feel more satisfied.

Terry mine is right!! Have you found a new career?? Jane
  19. Laura, I have had customers tell me you have weird dreams of the patch also, I wonder if it is one of the secret ingredients!! Good Luck!!! Well once again I spit up a bunch last night. Threw up on my comforter it is in the wash as we speak. I really don't feel bad. Just tired from waking up all the time. But at least I can lay down now, I couldn't do it before I switched to 4 zantacs. I wish the nurse would call me back. I called again late yesterday, but no reply. Hope she calls soon. Semi busy day at work today, Have a good day!! Jane
  20. I had a barium swallow before surgery because she won't do the band if you have one, so they check everyone. I didn't have one then. Don't know what this is...
  21.:frown::tt1: Boy that would really suck if it was my gallbladder!!! That is scary and never thought about that!! Jane
  22. tracyK hope all is well. That is such an owie, but you do get imeadiate relief (almost). Hope you are napping!! I am having troubles with acid reflux, and the Dr.s office didn't call me back. I left another message but I think it is too late in the day for a return call. I am not able to sleep at night without horrible reflux. I am not up to 4 zantac at night and 4 in morning with a little relief. At least now I can lay down okay. Now, here comes the gross part, I don't eat for about 3 or 4 hours before bed, and really I have stopped drinking also. But I end up with something similar to sliming happening. I get a mouthful of nasty stuff and then end up kind of throwing it up. I keep a glass by my bed so if I catch it I don't have to get up, (I know TMI!!) I did get a bit of a fill two weeks ago, but it seems like I can eat fine. When she filled me I had actually lost fluid, so she couldn't fill me as full as she wanted. Is this making sense to anyone? It has been going on for about 3 or 4 weeks and this past week has gotten really bad. Any suggestions???? Sorry that this is such a long post!! I am going to make it longer by going advanced and making it bigger. Jane
