I have been taking Colace (i think that is how it is spelled) regularly, It is a stool softener It works well, slow though. Magnesium citrate on the other hand should move you right along. I'm not a Dr., you may need to ask them first.

Who did your surgery? I'm having mine done at Bariactic Solutions in Decatur. I'm not doing to bad on the diet except I noticed when my husband was eating some cereal, something I would never be interested in, I actually wanted some and was craving it, and I was not even hungry. Did you have much pain and gas after the surgery? I'm a little bit nervous about it. There is another lady in her that's from Azle, TX. She is having her surgery May 2, so she is real close, she is keeping me updated too. Maybe we can all get together one day and talk. Do you work? How long did you take off? If your a housewife did you get to take off I'm in school and I have finals next week and then I won't go back till fall. My kids are all grown up so I'm in the clear there.Just me and my husband really. My oldest boy is in college and he lives with us, but I don't see him much. Well, I'll rap this up. Next time I will PM you and we can chat. Good luck with the mushie's -

I Just thought I'd introduce myself, my name is Stephanie and I live in Haslet, TX, North of Fort Worth. I don't think we live supper close, maybe 30 min or so apart. By the way, my daughters name is Jessica, plus before I was adopted my birth name (last) was Bilodeau. So I thought that was pretty neat, we have a couple of thing in common. Anyway, I am getting banded on the 28th of May so I'm just on a high protein low carb diet for now. But I'd be glad to chat or whatever with you if you would like. Sorry, I've forgotten what I read. Are you banded yet if not do you know when? If you are when did you get it done? -
Exercise and I do not have a good history together. Somehow I ended up passing basic training for the Marine Corps by the skin of my teeth, But after I was in the field I ended up in remedial because I couldn't pass the run. I hate exercise I have a bad knee, and I'm trying to figure out how to motivate myself to exercise. I'd like to think I could eventually like it , but I don't know about that. I need to just find out how to push myself and make it a routine. Does anyone have a similar story? Or maybe some suggestions. Some encouraging words anything would be greatly appreciated. I'm not banded yet that happens May 28th.

Just Starting Questions

Welcome. You should just be able to call your insurance company to find out that information. That's what I did anyway. Hope that helps a little. My husbands form Johnson City, TN. What part are you from? -
I'll be near the rear on the 28th of May 2013. Good luck to everyone. I'l be curious to read the threads on everybody's journey.

Well, they changed my pre-op appt. to the 23 of may instead of the 27th which would have been the day before my surgery, so I'm glad about that.

Does anyone have a favorite fat-free yogurt? I am trying to find one I like. I like Dannon low-fat vanilla, but I don't like the fat-free one and I need a fat free. Thanks for any suggestions.

I know it only takes a minute or so for food to pass through the opening of the pouch. As far as anything else I'm not sure. I'm not a Dr. though. It would be a good idea to let your surgeon now the results of the test it could be quite helpful. Good luck -
Looking good! Keep up the good work, congrats!

Thanks for sharing. I haven't yet begun this journey (will be banded 28th May) and my stomach already hangs over severely I can only imagine after losing the 100 and some pounds I need to lose. So, it was helpful seeing how well yours turned out . Now, if I can get over the fear of having one. Thanks again

The Dr. wanted me on a high Protein low carbohydrate diet before the liquid stage. I am noticing a problem I am having. I never really eat a lot and I've always wondered why I did not lose weight. Don't get me wrong I did get to this size by not eating to much, but over the past few years my way of eating has changed and I don't really eat. I changed the types of food I eat to better foods and still no weight loss. But I have to be putting in more than I expend right. Since I started this diet I notice I don't want to eat. I Just want to eat my yogurt and granola all day. But I figured if that is all I eat then I have a healthy dinner that would work, nope. So, some how I keep tricking myself into thinking I'm doing the right thing. I notice I want something fast and easy but also something that's got sugars. I don't want to sabotage my success with the band. But it seem I would rather not eat than to eat right. I don't understand why the weight does not come off when I eat less than everyone else in the house. So, what's going on. I need to figure this out before I get the band. I'm afraid I'll not eat all day then eat the wrong stuff thinking its OK. Because when I checked my yogurt and granola, which you think would be OK, well even though it was low fat the sugars and carbs seemed like they were quite high. I think I may know what is wrong but would like some other input to make sure. I do seem to find away around my diets so they are not effective, and that is scaring me .Did anyone else have this problem? Thanks for any suggestions. PS. I don't exercise because I have a torn meniscus in my knee that they haven't fixed yet. Don't know if they are going too , they seem to be fixed on my weight more. So maybe if I lose the weight they'll fix it. I also have hypothyroidism but I'm on meds for that. I don't know if that still affects things. I think I am afraid of failure, and this would be an expensive failure.

Thanks, I have insurance and I can also go to the VA Medical Center between the two of them I might get some help with that. I wish I had a pool at home.
