Just coming of simple carbs you can have withdraws. Good luck, the 3rd day is the worst for me when I do it. I feel better by the 5th. ~~~Stephanie .

stept04 replied to enjoythetime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same thing here. Just had surgery Tuesday and It is hard, especially at first to drink anything. I feel so full and bloated, it is so uncomfortable. All I can drink right now is my 4, 8oz servings of protein drinks and a 1/2 cup of coffee. ~~~Stephanie -
I'm so sorry to hear that. I know I would be freaked out too. Good luck and I hope everything comes out OK. ~~~Stephanie

Did you feel restriction prior to your first fill?
stept04 replied to newskinnygal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just got banded Tuesday and I feel full when I drink I think it is just from swelling and gas. As far as burbs, yes I have been doing that a lot on liquids. ~~~Stephanie -
Thanks, That was what I couldn't figure out. ~~~Stephanie

Alex got rid of him, but I'm afraid he'll come back with another user name. Is there anything you can do with this kind of stuff?

Band tied to emotions?
stept04 replied to Amanda1982's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I just had surgery Tuesday and even though I've been to afraid to touch my stomach so I don't know if it is hard. I do know that it hurts getting up and down and bending over which I'm not suppose to do. The bending over part or stooping for that matter. So be careful. ~~~Stephanie -
Going home but worried about port sticking out!

That's what I was thinking, maybe it is just swollen right now. ~~~Stephanie -
What is the cost of lap band fills out of pocket?
stept04 replied to PhatKat1127's topic in Insurance & Financing
Mine are 150.00 without insurance and that's with numbing and fluoroscope. ~~~Stephanie -
I'm on day 3 of the post-op diet. Losing weight but it's probably mostly water, but I have to focus on the recovery not the weight loss right? I can't wait to actually start eating and really losing though. Have a good day all.

Congratulations on your wedding, and good luck with your weight loss. I'm sure will all be here to keep you encouraged. Sounds like your doing the right things. So keep it up. I don't know how much protein you get in, but it is suppose to really help with hunger and weight loss. My bariactric nurse said she sees about a 10% difference in weight loss with people who hit there protein goals. ~~~Stephanie

Band tied to emotions?
stept04 replied to Amanda1982's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've just been banded so I don't have any personal experience, but I've read a lot of post that have talked about stress and that it can tighten the band. ~~~Stephanie -
They say that taking it could cause an ulcer in the pouch and could then erode the band, at least that what I read. I think it would take more than one time though. But hey I'm not a doctor. ~~~Stephanie

Congratulations, that's a great job. Keep up the good work. I hope to follow in your footsteps, I was just banded Tuesday. ~~~Stephanie

I agree with sharpie I had mostly the same reasons. I did not want my insides cut up or rerouted. I would have went with lap-band with plication, but my Dr. did not offer it and my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Plus if there come a time that it has to be removed I figured they may know a lot more about WLS and there maybe more options. ~~~Stephanie

I am from North Carolina, but I live in Haslet Texas. Moved around a lot though, grew up military, I went in the military, and husband retired military. Never been were you are though. Except passing through. ~~~Stephanie

I don't get a fill for three more weeks but I thought I'd go ahead and ask. My Dr. told me that he puts the port in deeper than normal so it doesn't show after you lose weight. He does use a local anesthetic and fluoroscope. But I was still curious if it hurt more because it's in deeper. Has anyone else had theirs put in deeper or know someone and does it hurt more? I don't know if this is something that he just does or if it is a new way so not to have to go to a low profile port. ~~~Stephanie

Can you possibly stretch out your pouch on liquids? I am so bloated and full when I drink anything. It does not feel like gas, but I guess it could be. I had my surgery Tuesday. ~~~Stephanie

Welcome, I did not have to do anything except my cardiac clearance, ultrasound,Psych eval, and nutritionist consult. It would have all been done in about a month, but I ran into a snag with my cardiac clearance almost did not get banded. Because of that it took about 5 mths and then another month for me to finish out school for the semester. . Good luck, It does seem to go by in a blink I just got banded Tuesday it went by fast looking back. ~~~Stephanie
