I was that way for about 3 weeks out . I still get a little bloated when I drink my Water or Protein Shakes. It does get better though. I'll be 4 weeks out Tuesday. ~~~Stephanie

I never want to eat out again. LOL ~~~Stephanie

That's great, I hope to follow in your foot steps. ~~~Stephanie

Not much happened with mine, it was about a 10 min conversation on the phone, and I can't even remember what was said I was so nervous. But I do know it was real simple stuff. Just stuff about me and my weight. Best thing I would say is just try not being to nervous it really is not all that bad. At least it was not for me. ~~~Stephanie

Good luck! And keep us informed on how things are going. ~~~Stephanie

You can really see a difference. Such a pretty picture, Good job and keep up the good work. ~~~Stephanie

One of the thing they told me not to do was bend over. I wore lose sweat pants and they help dress me. If I could do it over I would wear something like a sun dress. ~~~Stephanie

Be careful about putting anything on it my Dr. was very adamant about anything being put on the incisions. Call your doctor. ~~~Stephanie

Are you on Protein shakes? Getting in my 80 grams of protein a day really helped me with feeling hungry or light headed. I don't know what your Dr's. recommendation are but if you can get in 60 to 80 grams of protein it should help. It's what got me through although I still had to deal with cravings for thing, and the urge to cheat Good luck ~~~Stephanie

June 11 2013 lap band surgery py
stept04 replied to Gregory O'Brien's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did the Dr. put any Fluid in your band at the surgery? I did not run into any problems with sipping anything. So I can only guess if they did not put fluid in then it is swelling. If they did put fluid in then it still is probably swelling but depending on how much trouble your having swallowing they may want to take some out. I'd call my Dr. to see if it is normal to hurt when you swallow. It may be , but it never hurt with me. ~~~Stephanie -
which lapband should i get! :-)

I have a 10 cc realize band. I did not have a choice in the matter, it was my Dr's. choice once he got in there and looked around he decided what would be best. If you have a choice the only thing I have read was that the 14 cc realize band had a higher slippage rate, but you know how statistics are it all depends on who did it and stuff like that.so I'd take it with a grain of salt. I put mine in gods and the Dr's hands. So far no problems, but I am only 2 weeks post-op. Good luck with your decision. ~~~Stephanie -
I'm 2 weeks post-op and the only thing I can think to tell you right now is research. My Dr.'s great but because there is so much that goes into the pre and post-op and the after they had a booklet but together for everyone. I had to make sure I read it and it was also recommended to come here to this site. I don't think with all the patients they can remember everything to tell you. I don't know about your Dr. and how they do things but make sure your educated just like your doing now. Some questions may have to be answered by your Dr. though. So just keep doing what your doing. ~~~Stephanie

I believe Bariactric Advantage.com has some chewable options. I know they do for the multi and Calcium so they may for the B complex, you could check it out if you want. Their stuff is really good and recommended by my Dr. ~~~Stephanie

I think I have been putting to much on my stomach. Ever since the surgery I have been bloated and could not tell gas from full. But now that I've started mushies and It's been 2 weeks and the gas is gone I can tell I was pushing it to far. Now that I started mushies I actually measured out a cup and chewed thoroughly and took 20 min to eat and can tell a difference. I think I'm going to have to cut back because I still got uncomfortable at about 30 min.I'm not noticing any soft stops yet. If this keeps up I won't need a fill on the 19th, but things can change by then. When I talked to the Dr. at a week post-op he basically said I could not have any restriction at this point without a fill. I mentioned it because of the bloating I was having. Do you think this sound like restriction or just gas? I need to know so I can go up against the Dr. if need be. I don't want a fill if I don't need one. How do I know? I am staying full for 4 hrs. and I mean full, full for about 3 of those. Hope this makes sense. BTW he said I was just getting use to the feeling of the band. Like wearing a belt for the first time. But if that the case the belts to tight.LOL ~~~Stephanie

Thanks for you're all's replies. I will see how things are going by the 19th, and then we will go from there. I'm pretty sure if I am still in this situation by that time that they wouldn't push me to get a fill if I explain it to them. But I good need one by then so will see. Thanks again. ~~~Stephanie

Are they sugar-free, they say to watch your sugar intake. But if it is just one or two I wouldn't think it would hurt. I chewed sf gum. You could always call your Doc. to make sure. ~~~Stephanie

uh oh.... What's this pain!?
stept04 replied to WheelCrazy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two weeks post-op and like you I almost fell in the kitchen the other day and since then have had a sharp pain when I twist or turn or bend it is on my right side. I'm a nervous nelly about it, but it seems to be getting better each day. Maybe it's the same for you, it will get better each day. If it gets worse I guess you should call the Doc. ~~~Stephanie -
Was the contrast really bad? I get my first fill on the 19th of June. I'm excited but concerned about how bad it taste. Also I don't know how aggressive he is about fills. So will just have to wait and see. Wish you the best of luck with yours. ~~~Stephanie

Maybe you could look up foods on the internet that contain more sodium naturally, like for instance celery is higher in sodium than you would think. Did they give you an amount of sodium that you would need a day? That would be helpful if they did. you could track it on .MFP.(my fitness pal.com) ~~~Stephanie

I goggled how many calories are in baby back ribs and one choice that popped up was Texas Roadhouse Baby Back Ribs half rack. One serving which I'm guessing is half a rack because it was wrote just like that, they did not specify anything else. It was 562 calories. That might help give you some idea. ~~~Stephanie

I was like gowalking, they would have had me do the treadmill but I have a torn meniscus in my knee, so they did a chemical stress test. I was so glad. But then they found something and that's a whole other story. It cost me 3 months. ~~~Stephanie

I 'm so bummed for you. I just got my surgery 2 weeks ago and I'm suppose to have my first fill on the 19th. I'm so worried about my band/port because I almost fell in my kitchen a week out from surgery. and I hurt my stomach, not were anything is at but still close enough to worry. So sorry you've got to go back through a procedure and wait some more. ~~~Stephanie

stept04 replied to aviva1979's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded 2 weeks ago and though the left shoulder pain and gas pains went away a week ago I am still dealing with bloating especially when I eat or drink anything. Hope it goes away soon. ~~~Stephanie -
