I don't think it's too quick as I've seen others even faster. Those are each 4 weeks apart. Anyways, it was a breeze. It was way less "pain" than getting blood drawn. I haven't felt much of a difference. I have a 10cc band and had 4cc's in my band from surgery and they added 1cc. I stay busy and try not to focus on getting hungry. Hoping I will feel something with the next fill. :-)

My guess is blood sugar. So, maybe have some juice or a piece of candy before?

Where Are You in Your Weight Loss Journey?
kbell2011 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I started my journey at 242 lbs. I was required to do a 2 wk pre-op that I decided to start early (April 1st.) SX was April 29th and as of today, Ive lost 40 pounds! I've exceeded True Results 6 month post op weight goal ONLY ONE MONTH post op! :-) Super happy! -
I was banded on the 29th and my first fill was May 28th and second is scheduled for June 19th!

I don't know about you, but hardcore dieting worked but I ALWAYS gained it back and then some. You have the band in which is a tool you will essentially be using forever. You may have one up on her. Just sayin'. :-D

That's great! I'm so close an can hardly wait- 2 more lbs to go! :-) Happy for you!!

Went for my first fill yesterday (banded April 29th) and it wasn't ba at all! A little sting- as if you got a shot or doing bloodwork, but not as bad. It was quick and no pain whatsoever afterwards. I have to be on liquids for 2 days, mushy for one day, and back to solids after that. Good luck!

I was banded on April 29th and although it's been kinda tough the past 3 weeks on the different stages of the post-op diet, I made it. Today, I start "solids" and I'm pretty stoked. I weighed 242 on April 1st, 222 on April 29th (SX day) and now I weigh 205!!! Woo Hoo! I have more energy, I can better keep up with my 4 kiddos (ages 6, 6, 4, and almost 1) and I've dropped TWO pant sizes! I'm so thankful for this journey! My first fill is scheduled for the 28th of this month. Thanks for listening! :-) *happy dance*

Me!!! I have an IUD- Mirena. I haven't had a period in MONTHS like 8-12 months, I can't remember. Anyway, when I started the pre-op diet, immediately I started my period. And it wasn't the spotting (I know, TMI) that I've always experienced on Mirena. It lasted 7 days. Then, just like clockwork exactly one month later, started again- 10 days long this time. Weird!!

Feeling pretty miserable
kbell2011 replied to cda97's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my gosh... I know the feeling. It DOES get better! I've been banded for 8 days. Yesterday I could start the puréed foods and this next Monday I will start mushy food. <-- I know everyone's post op diet is different. On day 4 I had a meltdown. I had put together 4 meals for me to (or anyone) to pop in the oven to feed my family for the few days I was down. The evening of day 4, I was getting my kids plates fixed and realized I couldn't even TASTE the food to see if it was good. Ha! IT GETS EASIER, I PROMISE! Hang in there, these days will seem like a blur very soon! -

The difference is crazy! I can't even imagine what 50, 60, or 70 will look like! (I lost a few pounds over the last few months, started my pre-op diet a little early (April 1st) and lost 20 lbs, was banded this past Monday (April 29) and have lost an additional 3 lbs.) -

Question for those who have kids 12 or over
kbell2011 replied to cat whisperer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine are younger, but old enough to tell something is different. I just told them that Mommy is going to work super hard to get skinnier and healthy. They thought it was cool as they grabbed my chubby tummy and assured me that it will go away. Haha. They won't know that j had surgery. If they notice, I will tell them I don't feel well. No biggie.
