Look at the NEW you! You look fantastic!! -
After getting rid of all the clothes that are too big, doing laundry, and hanging up my new shirts, it sure feels GREAT for them to actually stay on the hanger! My "fat shirts" always would slip off! So, yay! Second, I started CrossFit today! I did it for almost one month last October (when I was 60 lbs heavier) and it was an awful experience. Not the actual workout or CF itself, but ME... I was miserable! Today was far different and I felt SO good when I left there. I can't wait to go back on Wednesday morning! Let the weight loss continue and the toning begin! What are some of your latest NSVs?

Should I Be Getting My First Fill?
kbell2011 replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would think so! True Results of Houston does them every 4 weeks as needed. I'm 10 weeks out and have had 2 fills so far and another in two weeks. -
I forgot to ask- do any of you have kids? I have 4... 6 yo twin girls, and two boys, 4 & 1. Although they don't know anything about my surgery, I told them "Mommy is gonna get skinny!" Lol! My girls weren't able to wrap their arms all the way around me when they hugged me and we've use that as our little test. Now, they can not only wrap their arms around my waist and touch finger tips but now can hold on to their other hand! :-) I find it easier to feed the baby in between my bites. It keeps me from eating too fast. Just thought I'd share

Date set: July 11th - any other July banders?
kbell2011 replied to aviva1979's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey ladies! I just wanted to drop in and say GOOD LUCK! It's totally worth it!! I started my (required 2 weeks) pre-op diet on April 1st (a few days early) bc it was the beginning of the month and my surgery was scheduled for April 18th. Then, due to bloodwork issues, my date got pushed to April 29th! I stuck to pre-op diet and lost 20 lbs before SX! The first few days SUCK! But, before you know it, you will be done with surgery, out of the different food stages in the first few weeks, and had a couple of fills! It's so worth it!! -Kristen -
The pain will go away! I was like you- couldn't get much down in the first few days but I was finally able to drink more and more each day. I love the chocolate Swiss Total Lean shake from GNC. It's ready to drink! :-) Keep walking and pour small cups of water/tea/protein drink every 30 mins or so to not get dehydrated even more! Good luck!

Advice on how to tighten that dreaded loose skin...
kbell2011 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have seen many awesome before and "after" pictures here on this site and as I am losing weight (down 50 now) what do you recommend to tighten my stomach area? I'm in my late 20s so I am hoping that I can bounce back, ha! I do have 4 kids- and one of those being a twin pregnancy. So, I am totallly ok with the stretch marks and slight saggy-ness, just wanting to try what I can to eliminate what I see in the mirror. (I'm still waiting for my brain to catch up to my progress!!) -
I'm so thankful for the band! April 1 to June 24th and a 50 lb weight loss... I will take it. I personally know quite a few people who have had gastric bypass and gained all the weight back over the years. The band can be adjusted and I don't feel like I'm dieting at all. I eat very small portions and I'm completely satisfied. I'm not in the green zone yet, so I get hungry sometimes before the 4 hour mark, but I try to ignore it and eat when I'm supposed to eat. That's it. Good luck!

How often do you weigh yourself?
kbell2011 replied to Nurse_B's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh every morning, first thing. It keeps me on track. -
I will just say, it hasn't been easy! I have tried REALLY REALLY hard to follow the guidlines given to me from True Results (of Houston- I know everyone is different) and that's really it. Eating and excersise-- 1/2-1 cup of food 3 times a day and I get some type of excersise in 3-4 times a week. I am like (almost) anyone else on here- I have slipped up from time to time and snacked, or had one too many bites of a brownie, but all in all it has just happened. I know it will slow down- which it already has, but as a I get a fill and countdown to the next fill, 4 weeks and 6-8 lbs later goes by fast. An example of my day would be: Breakfast: One piece of toast with a panfried egg (only using PAM) and sometimes one slice of cheese. Sometimes I can't finish that. Lunch: A small salad with some type of protein- usually chicken. Dinner: It's whatever I cook the family, I just eat a VERY small portion. Honestly, I don't track calories. (& there might come a time when I do have to start!) I know what is right and wrong when it comes to high calorie. If Im not sure, I will look it up to. I don't want to DIET the rest of my life, but this is becoming more and more of a lifestyle change, so I'm really happy with my decision. Ok, I think I am done with this book. LOL!

Thanks everyone!

It all depends on how much they are giving you at each fill and what you sweet spot it- you don't know til you get there. I was banded April 29th with 4cc in the band at the time of surgery, 4 weeks later- May 28th, they added 1cc, then 4 weeks after that, yesterday, they added another full cc. So, I'm currently at 6cc's. My Dr said typically between 5 & 7 should put me in the Green Zone. So, fingers crossed! Good luck!

Ok so having real problems trying to eat only my diet progression
kbell2011 replied to bnrguy34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on April 28th and still don't "feel" restriction. However, when I eat slowly, I can "hear" the band tell me when to stop. I get a hiccup thing and I know that I'm satisfied at that moment. That doesn't hold me at least 4 hours so I get HUNGRY, but I stay busy busy when that happens and fight through. One meal at a time! Good luck, it will get better for all of us soon! -
2nd Fill yesterday and I'm miserable
kbell2011 replied to Shalee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Like others said, you won't be able to eat that quickly after a fill... Especially one that huge! My 1st fill, I wen from 4ccs to 5. I had to do 48 hours liquids, 24 hours mushy food, and then back to solids. Take it easy... Because if you do, this could end up bring great for you and put you right where you need to be! Good luck. -
I saw her back on today and active on the forum. She mentioned that she feels much much better...

I'm sure you have steri-strips still... I was able to take my strips off 7days post op but felt uncomfortable leaving them "open" so I put new strips on for a few more days. After that I put neosporin on them for about a week and then that was it. It helped with the dryness of them and now they look great!
