    6 month dr supervised diet

I am rushing! Right now I'm dealing with the ills of being very overweight. My body is sluggish all the time, my joints are in pain all the time and sometimes swell b/c my body is litterally telling me it can not take the weight anymore, im huffing and puffing, and something as simple as a 5-10 min walk from my car to my office desk is a physical challenge. All of my health problems are directly related to weight. I really need a change, but I need some help. However, I know I need to do the research that's why im here. I'm going to two different surgeon orientations so I can learn. I'm wondering really how much of discomfort does this lifestyle change bring and if its worth getting rid of the discomfort I have now.

    6 month dr supervised diet

I got the written policy for mine yesterday. I have BCBS of Virginia and they don't have the 6 month requirement but there was some confustion b/c it seems some of BCBS does. I just made appts for orientation with a surgeon and waiting on another to reply to me. I'm trying to gather my research and get this done asap. I was wondering if I have to prove ive been overweight for a while though b/c my policy doesn't say any other crietria they use to approve or deny you. It just has the info about bmi and co-morbidities. It seems too easy in a way.
  4. I keep seeing this. What does that mean? compared to the green light?

sedentary job, days out of work?

Thanks for your reply!.... I'm so psyched that there isn't a 6 month supervised diet required that I'd rather get this done asap and not wait. I'm pretty sure I could manage a week of unpaid off time, but I know I couldn't take two weeks.
  6. Hi Guys, I'm new here. Just begining my research for lap band. I have a sedentary job, but there is about a 5 min walk from where I park to my desk every day. Also, I get up every two hours and take a walk around our data center. Other than that the job is sedentary. Question: How long do doctors typically recommend that you stay out from work? I'm hoping its no more than 5-7 days. I usually have three days off in a row and can probably manage 1 week off work (new job). I just found out my new insurance covers this and there isn't a mandatory 6 month diet either. I would like to do this asap, but haven't accrued time off yet!
