I'm in bed on my back, my bum hurt from same position though! Can wait to be on my side. Can wait too start with mushies. Going back to work on wednesday, pretty much 12hour shifts- goin to be embarrassing to have 15 different small containers etc. Oh and I can't wait to get to 7days to jump on the scale!
  2. Just got to hospital. Starting the process! Nervous and excited!! Praying all goes well! See you on the banded side
  3. I'm banded! Waking up from Surgery was a horrible experience. Was cold and weepy and the pain was so terrible, felt like I was hyperventilating. Pain meds awesome though. Had terrible gas pain under the collarbone but seemed to have passed now. I'm to scared to get up, move, drink etc! Can wait for this week to be over!
  4. Hi surgery buddies! We are heading to the 24 hour mark. Nerves are killing me! Will have no sleep tomo night. Have to be at hospital by 6am. I'm hoping I'm first on the list, think I will lose my mind if I have to sit and wait the whole day! How is everyone else feeling??
  5. Hey* I'm also 27th. Tomo we are entering single digit count down! Scared for the hospital and recovery, excited for the results! No pre op diet for me, so I'm enjoying all the nice things for old time sake!
  6. 14 days to surgery, couldn't wait for the date but now time is passing so fast! I'm thinking 'what the hell were you thinking'?! Self paying - deposit done, so no backing out! Feels like I'm the first one ever to undergo such a surgery, feeling terrible sorry for myself. Mix emotions starting to kick in! Plz tell me I'm doing the right thing!

    June 26th is the Day!

June 27 for me! Starting to question it though..here in SA I managed to go from seeing doctor to setting surgery date in 2 months. No pre-op test or diet..don't think that's how it ought to be.

  11. yay! someone to share my every step with!! like i said im so nervous but when they put me under and wake me up i will remind myself that the pain is temporary and the effect and happiness forever! my doc said no pre-op diet needed, also no visit to the shrink..which makes me wonder. but im in contact with some of his other patients and they seem to be doing fine!
  12. Hi Suzanne! im on the opposite end of the world, having my surgery 28/06/13. i was so excited at first but now im having sleepless nights and second thoughts. still full steam ahead but im so scared, first time going under the knife and first sleepover in hospital. im stressed out about the pain after surgery. and the adjustment afterwards! can someone please put my mind at ease on the change...the liquid and puree diet - how on earth do you go from your normal overeating to that?
  13. Good day all, As above you will note that I am new to this, waiting for my first consult. Still at odds as to whether I really want to go through with this but pretty sure my mind has been made up. I have been doing my research and I feel like my head wants to explode from all the info although I feel that I still don't have enough info! It helps having people around who are actually going through this process as we speak. Pretty much scared and excited about the process, looking forward to busting out the bikini in December

    NEWBIE

So happy to hear that it will all be worth it in the end! Must feel amazing to be rid of of one third or one half of yourself! I have so may q's regarding the journey, if you guys could give some answers it will be awesome: 1. On a scale from 1-10, what is the pain and discomfort level for the first few weeks? 2. How do you survive on 2 or 3 tablespoons of food at first? Obviously I am a food lover and dont know how I will manage this? 3. Does your social life disappear? Restaurant vistits etc? 4. Do you really have such a terrible few weeks, constantly vomiting? 5. What happens if you over eat? Is that even possible? 6. Did you see a dietician to get a meal plan? How do you decide what to eat? 7. What will it take for the band to slip? 8. Will the band get "old" inside you and have to bee replaced over 20 or 30 years? 9. Is there something I am not thinking about??? Sure closer to the time I will have loads to ask. Thank you
