Pray that I get approved! So anxious and nervous about being approved! I have horizon nj direct access, and I mean I would think the office wouldn't schedual the surgery if they didnt think I'd be approved right? Good luck everyone! And congrats to all if us! And please keep me in your prayers for my approval! -
psoriasis,,,cyst..?
stephanie0456 replied to stept04's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have psoriasis, well psoriatic arthritis and I never even thought about this! I'm on remicade, it's an iv infusion every 5 weeks so were planning the surgery around that... If u gear anything from your dr let me know... Psoriasis is terrible... -
Thanks for the reply.. It just makes me feel really badly about myself becuz ppl hear subutex or suboxen and think drug addict... And I was in these pain pills for so long I just wanted to be off of them, the severe arthritis is awful and painful.. But that's part of the reason I'm trying to have this surgery to lessen the weight on my joints... I'm praying it doesn't effect it... I have my surgery scheduled for may 30th hope my insurance gives their decision by then...

Hi all, I'm having such a hard time getting my psych to type a letter for me for the insurance company. The one he originally did was apparently not good enough because the surgeons office won't even send my stuff over because of that! He wrote that I am psychologically stable and I made my own decision regarding the surgery... I just got off the phone with the surgeons office and she can't even tell me what it needs to say! All she said was the insurance won't take this! Then I proceeded to ask her if she would be able to call him and tell them exactly what they wAnt n she turns around and says well we don't do that! I'm at my wits end becuz my psych doesn't know what they want I don't know what they want.., can anyone help me!

Psych letter
stephanie0456 replied to stephanie0456's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks guys... They did give me a name of ONE psych that I called and the earliest appt is may 15th... So I booked that appt. the only thing that is bothering me is that they want my copay and an xtra 100 dollers for the test.. If they take my insurance why would I have to shell out that kind of cash also? I'm currently unemployed and don't have that extra money just sitting around, I pay for my insurance over 800 dollers a month, that's why I was trying to use the psych I already use.... But I may have to just suck it up, because I need this done so badly -
So my surgery date WAS may 21st... But my dr is lagging with my 2 year weight history and my psych is lagging on the letter I need and they moved my surgery to the 30th now... I'm going crazy because there both taking their time like its not importent and they are holding everything up! In so beyond frustrated... It may not be importent to them but for me this is life changing and they are wasting my time! I don't know what else to do

Getting frustrated!
stephanie0456 replied to stephanie0456's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks kitt, I know what you mean in just getting anxious... Especially that I know I hAve my surgery date but I don't even know if I will be approved by my insurance... And I'm trying so hard to get things together n the surgeons office keeps calling and I don't know what to tell them anymore, besides that I'm trying! It's just getting frustrating and my family really doesn't consider this surgery a big deal, because it's elective it's not life or death so their not helping out so much either... I'm just venting but I know your right! -
So at my last trip to the surgeon he told me I had a hernia... I have horizon nj direct. I completed all my appointments and thought I was good to go but then the office told me they also wanted 2 years of weight history.. Which for me has become a challenge getting that, and also a few years ago I was put in methotrexate which is chemo therapy for my sever arthritis and lost some weight becuz it made me sick to my stomach, so 2 years ago I wasn't at a 37 bmi as I am now... My whole life I was heavy n now they want the only time I lost a few lbs becuz of chemo! So my question is if my insurance denys me becuz of those 2 years but they approve to have the hernia fixed how much around would I be stuck paying xtra for the band? Self pay? Any price range ideas?

-
That's true... I just got mentally ready to be prepared to be on liquids for two week n he told me this today I was like oh ok.,,, thinking in my head is this too good to be true? Lol

For my pre op diet the dr is telling me it's only one week of high protein no carbs... Does that sound right?

I don't understand how they gave me a surgery date but didnt submit anything to my insurance yet... I'm just stressing myself out... Will they deny me if my weight was lower 2 years ago? -

Anyone from central jersey around middletown?
-
Yes it was very awful! They made me drink one that was very thick I mean like u said cement think and them another one that was very liquidy...I was fine the whole time but when I got off that table when they were done I got very sick... Just thinking about it now is making my mouth salivate! Yuck... But I can't imagine having to do one after surgery, I know that's Gona make me sick and I don't think that would be good right after surgery!
-
Thanks, I'd like to keep in touch I'm not sure how to send private messages
-
Maybe! I'm just Gona try and not think about it! Lol where are you from? And which dr? My only problem I have with the staff and it's not a huge issue was that they had me get everything from all the drs instead of them. Like the letters and everything, I mean I wasn't sure exactly what they wanted so it was hard to get exactly everything, but I faxed all the papers last week so hopefully they have what they need! Lol

I live in nj, monmouth county... My surgeon is dr kipnis... He's affiliated with jersey shore... The insurance process for us seems pretty simple, I guess I'm making myself so stressed about getting approval just because the requirements seem to good to be true, if that makes sense! Lol
