I also had my surgery yesterday 4/11/13.....I can honestly say that the pain level from the gas is quite a bit more than I bargained for. But I am walking as much as I can and pretty much drove the nightshift nurses crazy (I had to spend the night in the hospital because my surgeon does it like that). Today, the first part of the day was a bit painful but manageable. This evening, things are doing much better. Hang in there....every day will be better.

Hi gg.....I'm officially banded now too....also sore but so ready for the next chapter in my new life. They screwed up with a shift change and then radiology closed so I waited 2 days to have anything to eat or drink. I wasn't real happy but it all worked out. I loved sippin on my chicken broth for my first lunch and even some apple juice. Overall, I'm feeling pretty good not counting the swelling and soreness....Glad to hear you are doing good gg.....we got this girl!!! LOL

I will be right there with ya girl!!!! I wish you all the blessings ever and will say a prayer for you.....let me know how things go. I will be getting my band sometime around noon today. I have to be at the hospital by 10:30. Happy Banding to you my Band Buddy!!!

Wow....my day is coming up too soon (Thursday, April 11th) and the "chicken" in me is trying to surface. I start my liquids tomorrow. I wish everyone luck who is getting banded soon. I"ll keep ya posted!!!

Was your surgery laproscopic? I was just wondering why so much pain still....I plan to have mine on a surgery and go back to work on the following Sunday night....(I work midnights). I talked this over with my surgeon and with some light restrictions he said I could go back then. Now I'm freaking out a bit because I haven't been there long enough to have vacation time to use.

Just received my surgery date this morning. I am getting banded on April 11th and so looking forward to it. I have been reading about so many people being on pre-surgery diets but I wasn't instructed to follow any specific plan or even to change anything yet. Maybe I should get with the program and start eating a bit more like I will be doing after my surgery. Good luck all!!!
