My name is John I had my lap band surgery back in early 2007. I have a 10CC large band. Leading up to my surgery I was so pumped up on starting my journey My surgery went very well no pain and was home 1 day and a half later. When I got home from the hospital I had lost around 20 pounds that was because a couple of weeks before my surgery my Doctor said I have to lose weight before he can do the operation so I did. I put in vacation from work foe 2 weeks while I was home I just was getting depressed thinking I will never eat solid food again and that liquid and soft food was it. As the days gone by I was thinking why did I do this to myself. I stayed in the house and hardly turned on the computer to reach out to other people like myself who had the lap band put in. around a week and half later I starting cheating and would eat shredded cheese by the bags because it made me feel better, When I went back to work after 2 weeks home of beating myself up I started eating the wrong things. Then 6 months later I decided to go back for a fill the Doctor said your doing good you lost 20 pounds and you did it by yourself because I never put any saline in I just put a very small amount to keep it primed. That day back in 2008 he put around 3CC's in. as the months went by then years went by I never put any effort to eat right so all the weight came back. Four years went by and still no effort now at this point my legs are killing me it is getting harder and harder to climb steps I really felt like crap. I now was in 2013 and still no effort legs are feeling worse myself esteem is at a all time low and keep saying to myself here it is 2013 I am 46 years old and feel like 96. I said enough is enough so early April 2013 I finally picked up the phone and called for a fill. I went to the Doctor 4/3/13 and he took out the 3cc's that where in there and put a total of 5CC's. I went on a liquid diet for 2 days and felt I needed my band a little tighter so against the Doctors wishes I went back 4/5/13 and explained to the Doctor I really want to commit this time to lose the weight, so he agreed after he saw me sipping water and watching the image on the screen. He added another 1.5 CC's for a total of 6.5 CC's :) I now have the tool and the mind set to lose this weight once and for all and starting my journey. Thanks for looking and sorry for the long post. God bless you John B)
