    What should I take?

Where are you having the sugery at; Memorial Hospital and Hamilton medical? Either place both the sugery will be an outpatient procedure, unless you have complications. Good Luck. Just wear something comfortable, becuase once you get there, they will have you undress completely and wear only hospital gown and some orange air flow socks. I had my surgery at Memorial hospital. I had to be there at 10:30am and was being cut at 11:44am and was done by 1:10pm and went home at 4:30pm.

    Corn/carrots/straws

I thought it was only me. Since I gave up on cakes, pies, candies, I find my self loving popcorn for my sweet tooth (??? it's not sweet???):guess I wasn't sure if popcorn was a big no no, but I haven't had any problems with popcorn. I do avoid corn, but I do eat stemed carrots.

    Vitamins

1st I bought lime flavor chewable from GNC and they were big and awful. 2nd I bought some Centrum liquid and couldn't bear the taste, even mixed in a smoothie. 3rd I finally settled on some Gummy Vites. These vitamins taste just like gummy bears, I can't tell the difference, plus my kids love them also. I get them from the SamsClub and the website is: www.gummybearvitamins.com
  5. I just got banded yesterday at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga TN, by DR Rose. IT HURTS!!!!! Mostly getting up from sitting down. My doctor had place my port in the middle of chest instead of the lower left side of my stomach. He said that's the new procedure, because it's more stable there and won't tend to move after you begin to losing weight. Plus also it's harder for patients to get to, becuase some patients were deflating the band themsleves so they can eat more. Talk about CRAZY. I don't understand why somebody would do that, but he said it has happen, more than once. But overall, im getting around ok and I can only sleep no more than 2 hours at time so far.

    Just wondering!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't make the same mistake I made 2 years ago. I went to the weight-loss center first, without contacting my insurance myself, to find out if they even cover the surgery. Well, at the center I had to pay upfront $175 to the doctor and $75 to the hospital only to find out within the same day, my insurance decline treatment, because of exclusion in the policy. Well I kept in contact with the insurance company every year; because they make changes in the policy annually and this year weight-loss benefits are included. So now I'm banded as of Monday. My insurance is thru my job and it's BCBS of Oregon PPO plan.

    Just got banded 6-21-04

Thanks for the support. On my Dr.'s list it's says if i'm not having problems drinking clear liquids after 3 days i can move into more different types of liquids. (besides CLEAR). I do feel little better today. I slept better last night. 2:00am-4:10am ZZZZZ, got up for 15 minutes and fell back to sleep 4:25am-8:45am. I'm still very sore, but i'm getting around better than before. Plus my cuts are not bleeding anymore. I'm hoping I can go back to work by sunday night.

    Just got banded 6-21-04

I was told to walk as much as I can. Plus also, I've read about people having major gas after surgery. I havn't released any gas at all and I still fill very tight in my stomach. I haven't had any problems with drinking liquids. (apple juice and propell). Is this normal for some people?

June surgeries how are you doing?

It would be bass as in car bass. It's just a name I use at my other forums, which car audio. I've been here for over a week just reading and gathering information on what to expect and how to handle the new changes coming into my life. I think i'll be posting a whole lot more once I get banded.
