Looking for some help getting back on track!
New Nina replied to timeforchangetonya's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
so sorry for your loss. It doesn't matter how old you are, losing a parent is always difficult. Try not to add to the stresses of your life by reversing all your successes with your weight loss. Weight is difficult to control but you now have the ability to do it...unlike the inevitable daily life occurrences. Going back to the beginning eating plan makes sense. Good luck. -
1 YEAR BANDED - DOWN 78 LBS

Good for you! Not easy but worth it. Celebrate...eat a yogurt. -
Is my band too tight?
New Nina replied to Deleted Account 2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Returning to coffee helped my headaches. I had stopped drinking coffee because i use half and half. Now think about it...was a couple of glubs of half and half making me fat or was it the pound of pasta? Have a cup of coffee. -

What do you think is the most important factor when choosing a surgeon?
New Nina replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Don't pick a fat one. -
Compliments are hard to take. Not worthy?
New Nina replied to Suzzie81498's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When people say "you look like you've lost a lot of weight...how did you do it. I always feel i have to tell them about getting banded and immediately say "it still was difficult". I hate that i feel that i have to explain my weight loss. Must my catholic upbringing. -
Give yourself a break! A few months from now you will be so proud of yourself. People will be saying how great you look, your new clothes will look great, you will be able to tie your shoes without your face turning red, hell, you'll even be able to see the color of your shoes. You had this surgery because you really had no other choice. Stick with the program and happier days will follow. Try to read this lap band talk every day...even on the days you feel you've messed up. It really helps to get you back on track. Everyone here wants you to succeed.

You look great. Congratulations, hard work pays off. I know that people think it's the easy way out...so what..your picture tells all. If it were the easy way out wouldn't everyone be thin?

Took me 30 days to get back to "normal". I find when i'm dizzy, i am not drinking enough water.

I plan an evening snack every day. Frozen berries take time to munch down. I also do some inane crafts at night. I just finished making my eightenth rope covered "pear". Last week (at 2 am) i thought it would be a great idea to remove the wall paper in my bathroom. Bad idea. I should have eaten a cheese stick.

Anyone have kaiser??
New Nina replied to jmonique78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thr more kaiser rolls you eat, the fatter you getm -
A few months from now you will not remember any pain, or sleeping in a recliner, or any other horrible, normal symptons. You will be so happy standing in the dressing room of a department store and the clothes you are trying on are going to fit! You won't have to squint your eyes to make them seem "not too bad". Give yourself time..good things will happen.

Balancing my own emotions
New Nina replied to ashly.auld's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, no, no. People know exactly what they are saying and how you will react. If people "mean well", they say well. Don't let someone control your actions and reactions. You cannot control what people say but you have total power of how you will react. Could it be that this person would like to see you fail? Be strong...you are your own best friend. -
Im either too loose or too tight:(
New Nina replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dont think my band is too tight. I just think that a lifetime of inhaling my meals dies hard. I still eat like its my last meal in a family of 12. I dont need as much food as i shovel into my mouth. It's only coming back for a visit in the bathroom! Will eating slowly and chewing throughly ever become second nature for me? I dont want to get any fluid removed because i feel that it will give me a red light to eat like starving pig. I'm right...right? -
New to this.. 4 days since my surgery.. Looking for support/advice from experienced, lovely people?
New Nina replied to kellylap's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in terrible pain for a full month. May 1 will be my one year anniversary. It's all worth it. 74lbs lighter and wearing a size clothes i haven't worn in 20 years. Hang in there. -

Sometimes patience is more difficult than the procedure. Be kind to yourself. The loss will happen.

I so need a buddy as I am slipping back a little
New Nina replied to NewLife4Jen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm a new member of the band. I like the band. But i dont like always dancin to the band. The band has allowed me to loose 68 lbs in 11 months. The band is moody. Sometimes the band loves me and other times the band ignores me and just keeps me jumping on the scale. The band has been kinder than any other group out there....the WW. The Hyptomists. The Acupuntrists. Etc. Im sticking with the band until i become a lead singer. I'll help you. If you help me!
