I was banded 5/21 and although I never vomited, I had major dry heaves so 2 days post op my surgeon removed the 3cc he put in during surgery, said it was due to inflammation and swelling. I go for my first fill Thursday and I think I'm ready for it because I seem to be hungry after eating only 1/2 cup meals.

Ok thanks. I know they'll tell me at the office but just wanted an idea ahead of time.

You say you were liquids for 3 days after your fill, is that normal or just what you could do? I go for my first fill June 13th and I was wondering if I would be able to eat right away or go back to the whole liquid diet again.

Shoulder and neck pain are most likely from gas - Gas X works great and you can also use a heating pad. For me my appetite didn't really come back until the 2nd week but important to stay hydrated and get your protein in. I used my leftover medifast shakes during the first week. I lost 14 pounds in the first week. Good luck!

I was banded 5/21 and I know this is what's called bandster hell but come on! I'm hungry more than I should be even though I'm getting in all my protein and eating that first in hopes to get full quicker. I don't have any fluid in my band and my first fill is June 13th. I've already gave in and had some unhealthy snacks here and there that I feel sooooo guilty for, not to mention got instant discomfort. I know it's more of a mental issue than physical hunger issue, ugh this is so hard. I hope after my first fill I will start to feel better. Thanks for listening.

You're definitely not alone! I also get the burps and I know I over do it when I get instant reflux pains, very uncomfortable. I have a 10cc band - I started with 3cc at surgery but two days post op they had to remove the fluid because I was dry heaving like crazy.

My surgeon didn't say anything about this, I'm going to have to ask him at my next appointment. That's definitely a nice thing to have when ordering at restaurants, thanks!

How long after being banded do you think it would be safe to ride roller coasters and other park rides?

What can I do to relieve this?

Since yesterday afternoon I was feeling nauseous and had dry heaves. The pain from dry heaving was unbearable so I called my surgeons office. They took all the fluid out, I think she said 3 cc. The pain of having the MD feel where my port was was excruciating. I'm home resting now. Has anyone had this experience?

So I'm on post open day 1 and I feel like throwing up but scared of the pain it's going to cause me.....ugh

I knew I would be sore but the pain is unbearable at times. I know it will get better soon, I can't even go to the bathroom by myself lol. How long before you start feeling better? I have school orientation to more that I have to go to and I'm nervous about the pain.
