My PA said the same thing, some people don't have any fluid in their band and are in the green zone where others have 9-10cc in their bands before they feel like they are in the green zone. Depends on the person I guess.
-
I was trying to joke about the situation with the PA, I said"I don't know who's more embarrassed - you for not being able to find it or me having a handsome PA poke at my fat." He got a chuckle. When I'm nervous I make jokes, can't help it lol.
-
What a painful experience that was - the PA couldn't seem to get my port in the right position, he poked me and was pushing on me until eventually he had to call someone else in! Finally after 20 minutes of probing they got it - 2 cc's put in. Hope that's all I need (have 4.4 total) so I don't have to go through that again. I asked him about drinking soda, my most difficult thing to give up, and he said once in a while is ok. I'm ok with that! Excited to see what a difference this 2cc will make

My doctor never really gave me a visual on the size of the bite, he just said small bites and chew chew chew. Looking at the size of the bite you posted I know I am taking much bigger bites and now I'm freaked out. I have an appt tomorrow and this is what I will be discussing. I've only had one fill, still technically in bandster hell, so don't really feel any restriction whatsoever. I can basically eat like I was before - is this normal??
-
I was banded 5/21 and have a soda occasionally without a problem. I was hesitant to try for the first time based on what people have posted here but it went down smooth and didn't have any discomfort.
-
Seem to still be able to eat same amount pre band

You're not alone - I can't wait to use this tool as it's supposed to be used. Right now I'm working solely on will power and it's tough! I don't have will power that's why I needed help. I'm trying to be patient but it's hard, I'm counting down the days until my next fill lol. Good luck! -
I, too, can eat pretty much anything without feeling restriction. I've felt full but nothing that made it too uncomfortable. I just chew really well, when I think it's good enough I chew it more lol. I do struggle with not drinking while eating.....that part is soooo hard.

1st Day Back at work - 10 Days Post Op
Noki124 replied to fashionstylist's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats keep up the good work!! I haven't told any of my friends, just family. It's a personal choice, I get it -
Had surgery about 7 weeks ago - mother of two and full time nursing student
-
The PA removed mine at my first post op visit since they didn't fall off on their own.
-
So I got my first fill (1.4 cc added for total of 2.4 cc) on July 5th and I still don't feel any different. Can I request another fill or should I give it more time? What good is this tool if I'm still only using my will power? Grrr
-
Thank you for your reply! It opened my eyes more
-
So I had my first fill (1.4cc for a total of 2.4cc) last week and honestly I feel NO difference. I was expecting to feel more restriction and I'm disappointed. How am I supposed to go another month before my next fill?!?! Ugh, didn't think it would be this hard. If I had will power I wouldn't be in this situation!
-
So I'm scheduled for my fill at 11:30 - what time should I have my last meal before they do the fill or doesn't it matter?
-
What's full feel like to you?

I know, on post op day 4 I was still on Clear liquids where I read that some people are eating. Makes me wonder did we have the same surgery lol. I couldn't even think about food for like 2 weeks. -
I had surgery 5/21/13 - feeling great and want to start working out. I don't see my surgeon again until 7/5. My question is when is it ok to start working out and do you think using the Ab Circle Pro machine would be ok?
-
Awesome, thanks! Just got back....put 2.4cc in (had nothing before). I'm excited to see a change, hopefully feel more restriction. Surprised to see 2.8lbs loss though but I'll take it! I can also resume regular exercise which is awesome!!! Thanks for support
-
Glad I'm not alone either - I was banded 5/21 and only felt restriction once real bad minus the few days after surgery. I ate a donut today - not proud but I did and it went down fine. My first fill is 7/5 and I'm trying real hard to follow the rules just sometimes I slip up.

I had such bad nausea and I attributed it to the pain meds, same thing happened with my gall bladder surgery so they put me on something different....well didn't work again. I stopped taking my pain meds day 2 believe it or not and also had the fluid taken out of the band - instantly felt better. Good luck.

Wow congrats, that's amazing.

Thank you for posting this!

I have my first fill on the 13th, what can I expect as far as food restrictions if any?
-
I am in transition from one insurance to another, I was supposed to have my first fill appt tomorrow but I haven't heard from my new insurance yet. My question is does anyone know what a fill costs out of pocket? If I reschedule this I can't get seen until July 5th Thanks.
-
Thanks everyone. I did call the office yesterday twice, left two messages and no one called me back So I ended up going through the scheduling department and moving it out until July 5th.....so bummed and hope I can control these hunger pains until then
