    Sick, IDK why?

I agree with kiley. I had my surgery on the 28th and I am just now starting some soft foods like scrambled eggs and retried beans. I would check with your dr regarding your diet.
  2. Sorry if this has been posted but I searched and couldn't find what I am looking for. I am 8 days post-op and the glue over my incisions (5) is still sticking around. In the shower, I don't really "scrub" the areas. Some of the glue has peeled off but it can painful. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you get the glue off? TIA

    Medical Alert Bracelet

Well, you all talked me into one! I went with the Dahlia cuff on www.laurashope.com. I'd rather be safe that sorry after all the work we've gone through.

    Removing glue?

It doesn't sound crazy at all! What's crazy is that I am squeamish about removing the glue, LOL

    I feel like crying:'(

I am so sorry. Right now you need support more than ever and it is so hurtful not to get it from a close friend. I'm proud of you for making the decision to get healthier. Part of becoming healthier means leaving negativity behind even if it means losing a good friend (I've been there so I know easier said than done). Good luck to you and gravitate to those who bring you up!

    Removing glue?

Had my first post-op appointment yesterday (12 days out) and I had put some baby oil to start softening. My dr started to clean my belly button incision and I freaked out! LOL. It didn't hurt obviously and he made fun of me. Told me to continue baby oil and the incions would be "clean" in no time.

    Back to Work

I headed back to work today, 11 days after being banded. I am a librarian in a k-8 school, and had the surgery the first week of our 2 week spring break. I was so nervous to go back to work! However, I made it through and I am now a little sore and a lot tired. Just wanted to share with others gearing up to go back to work that it's not as bad as we imagine!

    Back to Work

    Thanks! :-)
  9. I was allowed Greek yogurt/sf yogurt two days post-op. Every dr is different. It sounds like gas pain or referred pain to me.
  10. Mine is: 1-2 days clear liquids 10-14 days liquids, yogurt, sf Jello and sf pudding 10-14 days "soft" foods; I.e. tuna, lf deli meats, fish, Soups, retried Beans, cottage cheese, etc. 10-14 days "chopped" foods; I.e. Ground turkey, chicken, plain crackers, cooked veggies, etc. Finally, regular foods Each "phase" is recommended to be 10-14 days but my dr said I can move on when I feel comfortable. I'm10 days post-op and adding some soft foods into my diet.

    surgery two days ago

Everyone is different. I am 6 days out and my gas pains pretty much ended day 3. I occasionally still get some pain my left shoulder but that's usually after eating (well, drinking at this stage). Those first few days made me feel like it was NEVER going away. I promise it will! :-)

    Update on surgery April 2

Congratulations on everything! Good luck to you in both your weight loss journey and being a mom to 2 :-)

    Drinking

I'm so glad you posted this! I have the hardest time not drinking while eating and I'm only 5 days post-op. I'm following the rules because the surgery would have been a waste if I don't. Just want you to know I completely understand :-)

  19. I was absolutely FINE until I talked to my surgeon right before surgery! He and I joked, he walked away and I burst into tears. My mom was, like, what is wrong? I had a moment of panic - is it worth it? Did I make the right desicion? Etc. it's been 4 days since my surgery and I feel great but I still have moments of weird emotion - like crying at a sappy commercial, LOL. I think it's perfectly normal. We are having major surgery and facing a new life and lifestyle;it would prob be weird not to be emotional :-)

    Surgery tomorrow!

I personally haven't been very hungry. Today is the first day I've noticed it. 4 days post-op and I've been having the low carb Slim Fast shakes (dr approved); each one has 20g of protein. Also Greek yogurt and sugar free pudding with protein mixed in. I think it will get harder but I have to use mind over matter. In about a week I can start adding soft foods so I just have to focus on that!
  21. Hi all, I've been lurking for a few weeks but need a little support! Surgery is tomorrow, and I'm actually not nervous. Just a little anxious about the few days after. I know a couple people (in person) who have gone through this but it's so nice to know there have been so many through this. Thanks for all the support, and I'll keep you posted!
  22. I take Centrum liquid multivitamin, chewable calcium with vitamin d, and a sublingual vitamin b. all these were recommended by my dr an nutritionist. They have made a big difference in energy levels!

    Going Back to Work

Personally, if I didn't feel ready, I wouldn't go back. I don't know your situation but if you can, take a couple more days. Recovery is important. I wish you the best
