    Banaster Hell???

I completely get it. I'm still in Bandster Hell but it gets better the more fills you have. Having fills and time will help tremendously. I've had a glimpse of the Green Zone so I know going through this period will be worth it!

    Banaster Hell???

Don't worry, I feel the same way. I just had my third fill today (banded 4 months this Thursday) and I sometimes feel like, what was the point if I still have to be so strict about my diet? But' after my third fill, I started to feel the magic working - just didn't last (which is completely normal). It may take a while but it will be worth it!
  3. Ok, don't know how to explain but here goes: My second fill was about 5 weeks ago, I know I need one because I'm not in the green zone. However, I've been eating larger portions for the last week or so which had caused the "side stitch" feeling. I know this is completely my fault. I guess I'm wondering if another fill is a good idea? I see my surgeon tomorrow but wondered if anyone else felt something similar or had advice? Thanks, and sorry for any confusion!

    Need fill but ...

Ugh, so went in today and gained a little over a pound :-( I knew it was going to happen but still a bummer to see. My surgeon walks in and says "what happened?" not being rude, just concerned. Told him I had been stressed and eating too much, blah blah and he said, when you feel this way, come in let us help. So nice to have a supportive surgeon and office staff! Stopped at grocery store on the way home and stocked up on Soup, fresh fruit and veggies, and fish so feeling optimistic. Glad I started a gym routine - back at it tomorrow!

Yay! Great feeling when others notice. Keep up the good work!

    Need fill but ...

Thanks, I agree. I'm eating too big of portions, plain and simple. I've been working hard on eating healthily and slowly. I tried the "eat slow" app where it dings after 1 minute - it's amazing how long 60 seconds can be! I think I will go forward with a third fill and cut back on portions. Thanks again!

    I watched a video

Everyone is concerned before a fill! Once you have one, you're, like, is that all?! Trust me, I've had 2 and was anxious before my first and it was for no reason. Honestly, I don't know if he numbed the area or not but I didn't watch and it was done before I knew it! One difference for me vs others is that my surgeon does all my fills (I've heard some iffy stories from those who get them from nurses, pas, etc. Don't worry, it's probably the easiest part of having the band!

    half way to goal!

First off, congratulations! You must be so proud of yourself :-) Second, no you are not alone when it comes to sticking to your diet! I had been doing pretty well but the last 7-10 days have been so off for me. I use My Fitness Pal to track what I eat, and I've only gone over my daily calories twice (not by a lot) but it helps to see where my problem areas are. I just keep reminding myself that I'm not on a diet, there will be good days and bad days, and the scale is moving in the right direction and my clothes are falling off, lol!
  9. When I started this process, I weighed 296. (i'm 6 feet) When I started the Pre-op diet, I had lost 6 pounds on my own. I then lost about 15 more on the Pre-op diet. Three months post-op and I now weigh 252. At my highest weight, I was 311 and I was terrified I would be there again or higher.

    Watery Mouth and Foam

Just want to say that not all drs say no to carbonation. My dr is fine with it as long as I don't have any trouble with it. I mostly drink carbonated water and an occasional diet coke. Double check with your dr regarding it because it's not always off limits. However, if this is the reaction you had due to it, I would want to avoid it! Good luck :-)

Do you eat the same stuff??

I actually eat the same things as before ... even fast food. I have no trouble with any food; I just eat less, instead of a Big Mac, fries and soda, I just get a cheeseburger. I craved a Big Mac not to long ago and ordered one. I ate two bites and was done. I have been slowly and steadily losing weight and I'm happy.
  13. Ten weeks post-op and I've lost 16 pounds. Of course, I wish it was more but I have been consistent and I am losing inches. Excited about my future!
  14. For me, it just takes time. Some people use gas-x, heating pads, walking or doing windmills with their arms. I think you'll find what works for you. If you get this pain when not overeating or eating too fast, talk to your dr.
  15. *vagus* nerve (not vargas)
  16. It happens to me. The pain is referred pain from the Vargas nerve. That nerve "reacts" to your stomach/ pouch being too full.

    Frustrated

I completely understand! I am 9 weeks post-op, and had my second fill yesterday. I've lost about 15 pounds since surgery but I feel it should be more! However, I have to remember that if I hadn't had surgery, I would not have lost anything. I also have to remember that I'm losing inches and gaining energy. I think it's normal to feel this way ... You're doing a great job! Don't get discouraged :-)

    Hair Loss

Yesterday is my two month anniversary of being banded an I just noticed this week that I'm losing hair! I've been taking Biotin 5000 mcg for over a year and a multivitamin since surgery. Thankfully, I have enough hair so it's not noticeable - lol!

    March 2013 Bandsters

I am with you! Today marks two months since surgery and I've only lost 15 pounds. But, then I thin, wait, only 15?! Let's see, I've lost not gaine, I am down 2-3 pants sizes (depending on brand), I get compliments almost daily, I feel better ... The list goes on. I can't be anything but encouraged when I think of it that way. I get a second fill next week and they may help me start losing again. I don't mind losing slowly as long as I keep it off! Keep it up March Bandsters!

    My big "FAT" rant.

Keep trying! Have your dr continue to appeal. When it's medically necessary, it may take a few tries. I wish only the best for you.

    Eating small bites

This has been the hardest part for me. I'll be six weeks post-op on Thursday and I struggle everyday! I try reciting the alphabet with every bite ... and taking a break in between. Good luck!
  23. I don't think this picture does me justice! I notice a bigger improvement
