Oh, my story... My story could turn into a book, just like most I have been through it all.... I have been thin, 135 wearing a size 6, thinking i was "fat"! I have been fat, 290 wearing a 26/28, thinking i was "fat"! And everywhere in between, thinking i was "fat"!!!!!
That person is behind me, i have left her in the past - it is now time for Kim! Time for me stop putting everyone, everything else first - it's my turn.
My journey started way before I knew it, I just finally realized it in late 2012. My first consult with Florida Surgical Weight Loss Center was on March 7th, my first Doctors visit on the 11th. I have done my 3 months of supervised medical weight loss (required by my insurance), submitted for insurance approval on the May 8th and approved on May 22nd. I go for my pre-op visit on the 27th for surgery on the 14th of June! :)
Surgery was a lot easier than I thought it would be... the worst was the gas pain - that was no joke! I went into the OR at 11am and was home on my couch relaxing by 4:15pm. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to my surgeon, Dr. DiCicco, the staff at Florida Surgical Weight Loss, and Memorial Hospital. Everyone ensured my experience was a good one and continue to each time I visit them.
I had my surgery on a Friday and went to work a little over a week later on a Monday. Going back was not exactly easy, my job is very stressful, but I just took it easy and listened to my body.
On July 30th, I had my first fill to 4.77cc - Dr. DiCicco first tried 5.0cc, but decided it was to much and he was right 4.7cc is perfect for me. I am doing very well and lost 12lbs in just 4 weeks from my visit on July 30th to my next appointment on August 29th, so no fill on my last visit. I am using the tool the way I have been taught to use it. I count my calories daily, anywhere from 900-1300 calories a day and keep my meals small. I am very satisfied and have not found anything that my new stomach will not allow, I eat slow and chew, chew, chew!
I hope a year from now I can happily post good news and be very close to my goal weight. I am very happy with my decision, my results, and am excited for my future (for the first time in many years).
