16 days post op and nerve damage killing me
balbuquerque replied to balbuquerque's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told my dr that my skin was on fire and he's the 1 that told me thA was due to a nerve being cut during surgery and gave me more Percocets. I guess I will have to make an appointment with a neurologist for some different medication -

Thank you Cassandra. But your pain went away in how long? I've read that tummy tucks and Lipo are common for nerve damage so that's what it probably was. I've been reading all day but no a answers yet? I just took a Percocets and I hope that it works tonight. -
Oh wow I'm so sorry. I've never been stuck either 16 days post. Do you have a fill on your band. ?

Apparently I am that 1% that has major issues with surgery.

Hope 2013 I'm so glad that your husband decided to Take it out after so much went wrong. I don't understand for the life of me how some patients decide to have the band repositioned or whatever after it goes wrong. I'm 15 days post op and I've been having lots of raw like pain that started on the 7th night particularly when I lay down, and I already asked my husband to please have it taken out if anything goes wrong. My surgeon said that the pain is caused by pulling a muscle and that it will get better, gave me Percocets and send me on my way. I pray that he is right. I hope that your hubby gets a fast recovery. Will keep him and you in my prayers. Sent from my iPhone using LapBand -

Puree Stage....Suggestions????
balbuquerque replied to ♥ANewMeLADYT♥'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
In everyone's experience when dies the purée stage starts and how long it lasts? Mine started today 14 days post op and last two weeks. Sent from my iPhone using LapBand -
Texasgirl in my research I learned that band recipients should avoid sour, and carbonated foods, drinks at all cost. They both are major contributors to band erosion. Best wishes to you. Sent from my iPhone using LapBand

Wow I'm so sorry u are having trouble like that. I had mine on 3/21 with little trouble compare to yours and I want them to take it out already. I rather be over weight, and alive, than skinny and sick or dead. Did u have your surgery in Mexico? Also what doctor? I'm two weeks post op and my body feels like its rejectin the port. I'm so uncomfortable and worried. Best wishes. And if I were you, I'd have a reputable doctor take it from out of me. Again best wishes. Sent from my iPhone using LapBand -
Jenni to answer your question, my daughter was 16 when she had her surgery. She was at 399 lb at 5 feet 9 in. tall. Her weight was totally out of control. Because of her age she had to have more psychological consults, however she really didn't understand the severity of her Vitamin intakes so 9 years later she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which no one really knows the cause however it has been linked to vitamin deficiencies. She regained most of the weight but since her diagnoses she's dedicated herself to eating rite taking her Vitamins and exercise so she's lost 100 lbs in the past year. I wish I could start a crusade against childhood obesity, because there no reason y that should happen to any child. You may be too young to understand what I'm going to say but this is a summation of my life. I grew up in the foster care system without any parents. With that said, if the higher powers stood in front of me and said " you can change one thing in your life." The only thing I would change would be the way that I fed my children! You have to understand like previous post said the importance of following all the band rules, and take your nutrients. I wish you the best of luck. I just found out that my son is going to have a baby, I will make it my business to make sure that baby is fed rite from the time of his birth. Even if I have to label myself the food police. Again the best of luck, however it doesn't take luck, just determination and consistency with your journey. Sent from my iPhone using LapBand

Gained all the weight back! Anyone have advice or support?!?
balbuquerque replied to DM4077's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dm4077 gaining all the weight back can be a symptom of something a lot more serious. U need to go see your doctor and check. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using LapBand -
I wish you the best of luck. I just wish no child had to do this. My own daughter had gastric bypass surgery 11 years ago, and it is my biggest sadness and regret. Sent from my iPhone using LapBand

I FINALLY understand "bandsters hell!"
balbuquerque replied to koolkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess there's different kind of bandster hell. Right now I'm in so much physical discomfort that the hunger pain is not that important. My port feels like its trying to come out in the middle of the night. Must say last night was a little better. I had my surgery 3/21 and this feeling just started like three or four nights ago. Called my surgeon yesterday and he said it sounds like a pulled muscle but I thought a pulled muscle was constant pain and this isn't. The hunger does go away when I eat broth or drink a protein shake. Thank goodness for small favors. The sugar free Popsicles by blue bell help with the sweet cravings and my mentality that sugar is poison, helps a lot. I keep thinking self love affirmations when I walk by sweets "I love myself more then I love that chocolate cookie." For now it helps. I prefer the hunger 100 times more then this port pain. Hope everyone has a successful day. Sent from my iPhone using LapBand -

My port flipped...AGAIN!
balbuquerque replied to DBRN1972's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm Si sorry. I'm only 10 days post op but today I called my doc because my port feels like its trying to come out from inside me. A revision, you mean a new surgery? That sounds frustrating to say the least. I hope they finally fix it for you. How is everything else going for you. food intake etc? Sent from my iPhone using LapBand -
Port want to come out stabbing pain
balbuquerque posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I'm ten days post op and the sharp pain is only when I lay down and it's in the last couple of days. That's on the inside by port and on the outside its a burning sensation on the skin. Is my port trying to come out, is my body rejecting it? Last night it was intolerable until my husband helped lift me from the position I was in. I see my surgeon on Thursday, it seems so far way. I'm beginning to get concerned. Sent from my iPhone using LapBand
