  1. Has anyone experiences this, and if so how long this it last? On or about the seventh day of surgery I started experiencing stabbing pain and my skin felt like it was on fire. This was around one of my incisions of course. I was so worried thinking that it was an infection. But the incisions looked like they were healing fine. The pain would become intolerable when I moved certain ways when I laid down. Some up in tears and when awake would cry quietly and no clue what was wrong. It seems like its a nerve that was damaged, one of the risk of surgeries I guess. I just want to know how long before it heals? Does Anyone knows? The pain at night literally paralyses me sometimes. Until my husband doesn't lift me from a laying position I can't move on my own.
  2. 3dragonfly this is of a lot of concern because its all very misleading. Something as simple as going back to work was very misleading. I was told that I could go back to work the next day , if I had a desk job. Thank goodness that I didn't listen to that.
  3. Mrsinto amen to that. I've lost 20 pounds in 25 days and I going to avoid a fill if I continue to loose. I refuse to gain it back in any event.

    In a small dillema

Omfgmelly I'm glad that you found the answer that you needed. Sometimes when we don't have the information necessary to be helpful, sending out a good vibe verses patronizing one another could be encouraging. Again best of luck in your journey.
  5. I'm 25 days post op but I already made the decision that if any complications occur, I won't revise or replace anything. Just take it and I will use every ounce of will power to continue to eat healthy. I hope that you make the tight decision for you and your family.

Omfgmelly I hope you find what you need. Best of luck. And btw get use to the fact that there will be some very unnecessary and unhelpful posts.

    Recovery Time..after Lap Band Removal?

Spo817 how are you doing? Hope you are feeling better.
  8. The rapid weight loss is due to the band, regardless of how u look at it. Traci is telling her story very eloquently and for that reason is appreciated. Some members of this forum either work for the band companies or they stay confused. I wish you all the best.

    Slipped Band :(

Lorabeth I am so glad that they cought this in time and are removing it. Some people go a long time before is cought. Don't worry, it seems like you have a great doctor. Embrace any help that's offered to you. Sometimes when family is far our friends save us. Best of luck.
  10. Kellylap I'm so sorry that you were mislead that is very common. The truth is that you are miserable for a while after the surgery. Walk a little inside the house and that helps to relieve the gas pain. It takes time but it does get better. Percocets were my life saver for about two weeks.

    Need advice-may be too tight

Rcz1966 I hope you feel better soon.
  12. Another thing don't push, pull or lift. No house work or anything that can cause you to slow your recuperation. It's all about "you healing".
  13. Monsters80 please take as much time from work as you can afford. Two weeks would be most appropriate. Keep in mind that you are having major surgery, your body will be filled with gas, your stomach will go through serious traumA, you will be on clear liquid diet, which may make you light headed, I promise that its more likely then not that you will feel like you got hit by a truck. My nutritionist told me that I could go back to work the next day, I was so happy not to schedule myself on his recommendation. The best of luck to you.

Mis73 I think you missed the point. What the band is suppose to do or not do is not the issue.
  15. I have lost 2o pounds, my first fill appt is on May 2nd. Is it possible not to have a fill, but not need one? I am satisfied with just a cup of food, which Im on soft foods. Tilapia, beans, soups, egg salads with no mayo. Today I had a very small piece of omelette, two bites of potato, lunch was a slice of avocato, and a cup of white beans, and I felt too full. Is it possible not to need a fill? I forced myself to eat a few bites of a banana for dinner.

My doctor never even asked if I smoke? I guess cigarettes hurt the band?

24 days post op and I feel I dont need a fill

Thank you so much for the responses. It is rather exciting not to need a fill. I hear that most people without a fill yet feel no restriction, so I was surprised when feeling so full. Thx Again.

Throwing up gray gelatin like substance PLZ HELP!

I hope you get better soon Sophie. I'm sorry you are going through this
  21. I really appreciate your sharing your experience. I am 24 days post op with a very slow recovery, because of nerve damage ( I believe) I do not have any fill as of yet. I'm suppose to go in for one in two weeks , however I've been contemplating not doing so, just yet as I feel satisfied with a cup of good. Maybe I should reduce that. I really don't want to be too aggressive with fills if I don't need it. I've already lost twenty pounds and if I follow the rules and make good food choices I should continue to loose without adding more stress to my stomach. Again thanks for sharing.
  22. My biggest wish right now is that all of us that have suffered the hardships of obesity prevent this from happening to future generations.
