I have always wanted to have this surgery. I have been overweight all my life with the exception of a few years when i lost alot of weight and got married, pregnant and now i am at not my heaviest weight but about 30 pounds less....I come from a family who likes to eat, we celebrate everything with food. It is quite sad as I think about it, I came from the time when you could have what you wanted to eat and however much, but you had to eat it all. I am diabetic (type 2) I have borderline high cholesterol, hypertension and osteoarthritis, I do suffer from depression. I know that people say i dont need to lose that much weight, but i know that if i dont do this now, you will see me on tv where they have to cut me out of my house. My husband was diagnosed with Chronic Mylogenous Leukemia (terminal) and I need to take care of me, like they say on the plane when the oxegen mask comes down, put it on yourself first and assist others, well i am a care giver and now i need to care for myself. It is a strange feeling.....so here is to April 1, 2013 for my new journey in life....onwards and upwards!
