I was all set to have my surgery scheduled, insurance approved w/out requiring a medically supervised diet, but my Surgeon said he wants me to complete a 3 month medically supervised diet. I just want to get my new life started! I also had it planned that I would have the surgery after my kids got out of school for the summer, but now it will probably not happen that way

My husband would want me to drive because he wouldn't want to get out of bed to take the kids to school.

Have you already had your sleeve done? It will probably be summer by the time I have my surgery, I'm thinking.

I am new to the wall. A little about me. I am 39 and I have 4 children. I weigh 280 and would like to be around 135. I thought, until today that my insurance only covered roux en y, so I was surprised to find out they covered the sleeve as well. I am now leaning towards the sleeve. Can anyone tell me their experiences with hospital stay, and general recovery? Jen

I have my first consult tomorrow. My insurance requires I have BMI above 30 and at least one co-morbidity. The BMI requirement I meet hands down, but I don't have high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol or any of the other co-morbidities. My only hope is that my sleep apnea study shows that I have sleep apnea. So please keep your fingers crossed that I stop breathing a couple of times in my sleep during the study -
I have been thinking about Bariatric surgery for a couple of years now. I have my first consult tomorrow.

Lol, I was thinking roux en y or duodenal switch. I think my insurance only covers roux en y or lap band though.
