Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

I have lost well over 100 pounds too!
  2. burnsun

    Anybody start at over 300?

My weight when I first thought of banding was about 330. I lost about 30 on atkins got and stayed pregnant for sa surprise. Delivered at 270 on July 4th 2003 and got my band on 7/27 2004 at 278. My BMI was high- but not 50- I amalmost 5 ' 10 now (I keep getting taller as I loose weight. before at 330 ish after in October 2005 158 ish But I will say I was still breastfeeding which burs lots of extra calories so I did very well. I currently have no fill due to a problem (not really band related- just lost pregnancy) and am still at 155 (was actually happy to gain some weight back) I still have about 20 lbs of hanging skin in places I don't want. But you can do it!

Do you have a treadmill at home?

I have a really expensive one (about $1900 for floor model) It inclines to 20 % has 12 preprogramed work outs, storage for 3 personals and several other things. I have put over 65 miles on it since begining of the year (about 2-3 miles a day (I am litterally walking my ass off) I got it after Adtrian was born (a self pay on her birth as well- and I didn't use all the $ I put into the hospital account- So I took the extra for the tread mill! ) I really recommitted to exercise after having all my fill removed. (due to complication of band and pregnancy and body attacking the band at same time it was attacking the deceased fetus) I have only gained 3 lbs since- and I was really sick when we finally got it all out. But I could never get any exercise in with four kids and all if I had to go to the gym. I just finsihed 2 miles before I logged on and am now to energized to sleep!

    Surgery Complication's

You might try over the counter yeast cream (like the 3 or 7 day) miconozole product. It is likely a yeast infection! A few days of tratment will tell you if it is or is not. That is my problem and the more I work out the worse mine gets! So I lose but or have a red belly button.

Question for all you Moms & Dads out there....

I have to second the sling. But you have to be a sling type person to want one. I can still carry my little five year old and I also use it to cover the cart or as a blanket and about every other thing you could think of- but again you have to be that type of person. I always give the gerber lavendar baby lotion and bubble bath. My kids love it and it smells so good! I wish they made a spray for me in that fragrance. I also liked the gift cards and that would go great tucked in that neat wreath thing! That way I could get something I really needed once they got here and needed some special bottle or were allercic to cotton or couldn't use ______ formula and need a special or something like that.
  7. Rica I have been through that for almost 13 years and 9 miscarriages and so been there and wanted to die at the ob/gyn and re and other crap! I am sorry. I will tell you that my problems greatly improved with weight loss and am almost normal - at about 180 lbs for my height. DH would never do the sperm count- won't even tell you what I did to get it- thank god it was normal! Caiuse he would never have participated!!! But there are a lot of no invasive things that they might be able to try for him- and I swear Eric only makes spermin October and May since he hit 35! Good luck

    $75,000!!!

bill wasn't even that high! It totals only 66K for a 7 hour surgery with 5 doctor team, 3 days in PICU and two other in hospital and blood and RSV shot! many xrays, blood work, and four echo cardiograms! Her 11 day stay for pneumonia was only 45K and most of that in PICU with a few xrays and echos' and such! Sorry I think that something is wacked out! But I found out my copauy at the oral surgeon was more than if I had lied and said I didn't have insurance ($430 vs 290$) so nothing surprises me!

    Anyone with IR or PCOS

I have had it really bad with thirteen years of infertility also. Took years to get the right diagnosis- but the band has been the only thing that could keep me on a 1200-1500 cal diet for months at a time and keep the carbs- out! I have done very well according to tmost and super duper according to my dh!

    First Fill? 2.7cc

I got 2.6 the first time. It was my sweet spot and has been the only one I needed. But each is different. Good luck!
  11. I went from almost 43 to (not done lately) but 22.9 in less than 18 months!
  12. I just had all of my fill removed because after the loss of the baby (not due to band) but my body seemed to attack the band and not the fetus. I suddenly became unable to eat and swallow Water and such. There was no erosion and fill removal seems to have fixed the problem. Our follow up doce did not reccommend complete removal- but I wanted it all out!!! I will likely put about 1.75 cc back in later after I am all better if we start to gain. I currently am below goal and realized that i am sort of skinny- had three doctors who never knew me heavy remark and a few nurses on my daughters floor amaze at my figure and stuff and I had a good long look in the mirror after the baby loss and lots of tears- but if I get rid of my 15 lbs of excess skin and some lipo I would look amazing. BUT I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN AND AGAIN- but I have had few problems and the few things I can't eat- I really didn't need to anyways
  13. I am going for a complete unfill next Wed (if I can hold out that long!) :think It is for a good / great reason - I thought someone might catch it from my new signature line- but I haven't posted in a while. But I am now 10 weeks pregnant (that magenta anniversary dress). I can't eat anything at all now- I have completely closed- all I can do is drink. God I am sick of milk and slim fast. My follow up doctor is out of town till then and I can't get to Mexico because of Miranda's upcoming surgery and all the proceeding doctor visits. It just happened (it seems over night- but dh said he feels like it was over the course of two or thee weeks where I just started eating so much less. It really isn't that strange- I couldn't eat for most of my pregnancy with Adrian which started at 330 lbs and ended at 274. Course now I can't really do that- that would be bad! I just have lost more weight and now dh is freaked out! At least my OB/GYN is cool (his nurse pratitioner is driving me nuts)- he said if I got to sick to drink liquids- he would call the other band surgeon and make him empty me- he thinks this not seeing people is ridiculous- he doesn't get that option when they show up in labor with no prenatal care. And my reflux has gone insane- but it was worse with Adrian and I have yet to puke (I puked 24 hours a day with her) so I am trying to look at the bright side- maybe at least I will be able to eat a pickle- god I want a pickle!!! I have wanted one for a whole year! Or a piece of fried shrimp! Oh for captain D's a shrimp and a hush puppy or a bratwurst- ok I would settle for a turkey and mayo sandwich. I am just afraid I can gain it all back in the next 7+ months. Tell me I won't

    daughter's surgery is postponed

unless she gets too sick! He little lungs were not that clear still- so surgery is moved till December 13th. SHe will have to repeat all the same tests that we did today and then hopefully we will do it then. Hopefully she will be able to get and stay healthy till then. We discussed long term antibiotic use till then- which they want to (I agree - but we need to find something she is not allergic to) She also has decided that eating is for the birds- I hope that it is just his antibiotic and when it is over her appetite will return- but I am concerned. The "baby nutritionist" is coming out this week to figure out what we can do to keep her weight where it is or gain some! (I wish this woman luck- she has not met the stubborn fighter yet- I swear she called me a couple of nasty names when she was babbling yesterday and ke[t refusing her bottle and the breast - which she has never turned down!) So keep those prayers coming! JAne

    daughter's surgery is postponed

I always forget that some of us who post so little and have been around forever forget that you all don't know everything about everyone. I have a new little adopted special angel. (we adopted in March- best 5 lbs I ever gained). She has a av canal defect, among other issues and had been doing so well that they thought she could have surgery at 2 or 3. Well we got viral pneumonia in September29/October9- long hospital stay. She started building up Fluid around and in lungs and heart from being on oxygen -- so a new problem. SHe had to have a cardiac cath last week (Oct 19th) -- showing she needs surgery now- even if echo was good (which it was); we were scheduled for her open heart this week and now we have bacterial pneumonia (which we brought home from hospital) so she can have her surgery at the earliest in 6 weeks now (December 13th) unless she really goes down hill which is why the eating thing is so important. I just had my "pity me" day- I had everything planned- sitter, days off, got our christmas photos done (since she can't leave house for 6-8 weeks after) and now We probab;y will Celebrate her first chritmas in hospital DH felt that I was just mad because I would have to wait till december foir 24 hour DQ access (perk of the hospital) So I am in a much better place today- decided we will finish christmas shopping now (hey what are cards for -) and I'll start wrapping and etc. so we can all be ready to let dad and grandma handle everything while we are there I call this her sick little pumpking photo and here we all are Thanks for asking!

More sightseeing the following then plane rides home with all the kids on friday. I actually drove home from the airport. DH was "tired"

    Never in my life

did I ever think I would get to wear a dress like am going to tommorrow for out 15th anniversary. Size M junior- slinky sheer sausage number! in Magenta!!! It is sort of out of place and season for me- but I am so excited!!!! It is the kind I wish I could have worn to prom (my prom was in the "hoop" days & sothern bell look with the big hair) or our senior ball in college (same dress as high school no hoops- just added lace from my junior prom dress!) Well I will post a photo tommorrow. I still feel really like someone will come over and say you are too fat for that- or are you insane (OK I said that when I just tried it on with the right foundation garments (mind you a 34 c!!!!! down from a 44d) and I felt much better than yesterday. I wasn't going to buy it- but my 2 year old with fashin sense- screamed - " this dress mommy' this one" at the top of her lungs as I tried on all the old grandma ones!!!! So I tried it on as a joke and the fitting room lady said it was suppossed to look like that. I know I would feel better if my arms were not so "droopy"- yes they look lik the cartoon chacter's chin- but I don't care- I will still wear my grand ma cardigan because it will be cool so no one will see. PS- I also bought 3 1/2 spikes- I think my husband will faint!!!! Adrian told everyone who called or we saw today how pretty mommy was in her new "tenta" dress. EXCEPT THIS TIME SHE MENT MAGENTA and not TENT!!!! PS- sorry for not posting in so long- We moved, had to get DSL going, went to texas to finalize our adoption and spent nine days in hospital with our littlest with her first congestive heart failure episode. Now we are getting ready for her catherderization next week and her open heart surgery to follow soon if they can't patch all her holes wed in the cath (doc says they will try- but he thinks they will still do the open procedure- but we could get lucky- I am praying- and I gained 3 lbs at hospital on crappy food and whoever thoguht a Dairy Queen at a hospital was a good Idea should be shot!!!!
