  1. My dr told me no workouts, but screw all I want. Just be extra cautious to not allow bodily fluids into your incisions. They need to stay clean to heal with no complications
  2. Don’t work out at all until month 2. It’s extremely important to let your body heal. Working out can hinder your healing process.

Left Side Pain 17 mo post op

So I started feeling those little uncomfortable twinges last night on the drive home from work. All was normal, I was sipping on my water on the drive home and suddenly, those little sharp pings on my left side under rib cage. It got worse until I finally pulled over, got out of the car, stood up and walked for a few minutes and it went away. Then as I drove home I was too afraid to drink any more of my water, as I thought somebody was wrong, or I had a leak or something. Two hours later, I'm sitting at home and I decided to give some soup a try. Sure enough, if I ate the soup too fast, I'd start to feel those twinges again. So I'd stop eating and it would go away. I figured out real quick that as long as I took a bite of soup every five minutes or so, I wouldn't get those pains. I'm very nervous about a leak.
  7. I was banded and unbanded all within 2 years. Waiting patiently to be sleeved in Mexico when finances look right. Looking to go with Dr Zavalza. Any advice or encouragement greatly appreciated.
  8. 1. Sitting on the couch watching my then 7 month old baby crawl to the bookshelf- and having a hard time and breaking sweats just getting up off the couch to keep him from pulling himself up on the bookshelf and falling. 2. Watching Breaking Bad, and seeing Saul Goodmans obese bodyguard sitting in a chair and breathing loudly- commenting to my wife about it- and her responding to that by saying that I breath the same exact way. 3. Too many weight related issues- like losing erections, horrible varicose veins, high blood pressure, etc.

Eating too fast. Eating too much. Breads, pizza, pasta, can all expand inside your pouch, causing your stomach to have to move up through the band to digest what won't go down thru the band (slip). Trust me, I was in excruciating pain for several months, and experienced nausea and acid reflux that no amount of Prilosec or Pepcid would take care of. Listen to the band, and always keep meals prepared just in case you go somewhere that isn't bandster friendly (kids birthday parties, super bowl parties, etc)

May I ask how much you've lost?

    Band removal

Yes I had regular check ups and fills, unfills, but My slip happened fairly fast after the initial surgery. I've been dealing with the effects of the slip for almost a year now. I was never a good candidate for banding, as I've always been an over-eater.
