How long was your pre-op diet?
******** replied to need2bthin!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think pre op would definetly be harder because you are running around doing your usual routine...going to work, going to the gym, etc. takes energy... however when you are recuperating you are laying around at home not working up any energy so your probably not getting hungry. -
I dont have another meeting with her til after a month post op. I will ask my surgeon when I see him next. Thank you for your feedback

I'm preop but I was wondering if it is appropriate to post sports bra and underwear shots before and after on here. I currently have before shots in my gallery just from my facebook and whatever and my fiance is gonna take pics but didnt know if that was appropriate on here. Basically I wanna do some pictures, (front, back and side) once a month.

I'm 5'9" and currently weigh 268 lbs I know for my height a normal bmi is anywhere between 130-170 so I was just wondering what should my goal be? Is it unrealistic to think I could be in the 100s by the end of this year..my surgery is on May 23rd and I work out 6 days per week. Just wanted to know how anyone else with similar stats did?

My boss had accupuncture for her very bad migraines I think she went twice and no longer gets them..doesnt mean it will work for you but worth a shot -
This will be my first overnight stay at the hospital. I plan on bringing clothes that are easy to put on and off, sweats and yoga pants probably and then the basic toiletrees but wondering what else other people brought?

Has anyone had a breast reduction after getting to goal weight?
******** replied to thehappycat's topic in The Gals' Room
I want to get implants after I reach goal if my boobs shrink lol. If they stay the same ill be fine but I have small boobs for my current size lol -
Ive been doing my research like everyone else and have had all my tests. My primary doctor, nutritionist, surgeon and personal trainer all think this is the right choice for me..as do I. According to what my nutritionist said to me based on trial and error we found out 1000 calories is what I need to eat to lose weight so technically I am over eating. This surgery will make it so I can eat less than that

what to bring to hospital
******** replied to ********'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok another weird question. I guess I can ask this during my anesthesiologist pre op appointment but the nurse told me no makeup or nail polish on surgery day. I knew no makeup because that's what they told me during my last surgery but they never told me no nail polish. Does anyone know the reason, is it about bright colors? I only ask because my graduation is exactly a week before and ill probably be getting a gel French manicure for that, would that be okay. Gel doesnt come off with nail polish remover so id have to go back to salon to take it off -
Thank you everyone for the encouragement.

I hate the quote everyone is using "nothing tastes as good as skinny will feel" ..what if skinny doesnt feel good? Does anyone suffer with post weight loss body image problems. Maybe its just me but sometimes I look at before and after pics and think most looked better before. Of course if you feel good that's all that matters and im not trying to put down anyone. I'm sorry if you have heard me talking about this already but really worried about this. I know its for health reasons but as humans we do care about looks too and I personally think people with meat on their bones look better. Anyone else feel this way. Btw I'm still Preop

I have tried the traditional methods but know I need to be down at least 100lbs to be healthy so the sleeve is the right choice I was just wondering how others cope. Its obvious you guys dont have these issues.

I an obese and at risk for heart disease (dad had a heart attack) , diabetes and high blood pressure also run in my family. These are all in the top causes of death in the US, I wanna live a long life

I wrote this topic for support to ask if anyone suffers with body image issues, if you don't that's great (I have no clue if I will) but please dont put me down and tell me not to get the surgery. I was hoping not to be judged but we live in an odd society that the moment I say im fat and have confidence people question me
-
I'm doing the surgery for health reasons not looks which is why everyone should. I usually like the before pics but that is a personal preference only just as someone may prefer a blonde or a brunette or someone tall or short, people have preference to body size too. People can say they prefer skinny over fat all they want but the moment someone says the opposite people think its weird.
-
I just mean I like the way I look now I have pretty high self esteem. ..but I'm also one of those people who thinks everyone is beautiful. As a society we use the word fat as an insult and skinny as a compliment. I'm just worried.
