  1. Why would that matter? If I lost weight at 1000 calories per day and I maintained at 1200-1400 then why can't I just stay under 1000 per day during weight loss period and go back up to 1200-1400 for the maintenence period? For me the sleeve was about not being hungry which I havent been in this last week and 1/2
  2. I lost 20lbs in a week so it is working so far. I am not superhuman and couldn't eat less than 1200 per day but when I did I lost weight so I was in pure hell...my dr, nut and surgeon actually said I was the perfect candidate because I will eat less calories and when I get to goal and am maintaining I will be at my pre op calories which helped me maintain.
  3. It wasnt you hun. I had posted a thread pre op asking what flavors people like best and people were lecturing like crazy.
  4. Plenty of people are fat and dont eat a lot I'm not some rare species. As a teenager I probably ate 1800-2000 calories which according to drs that should be enough to maintain but i was gaining instead..looking back at it from pre op when I was eating about 1200 a day for a few years I guess I might say that is over eating but when I came on here and see that some people go back for thirds at dinner and can finish a whole large popcorn on their own I dont think I was over eating at all.
  5. It wasnt a rule I was just saying if you have a drink that is 10 oz and 300 calories and you only drink 5oz of it make sure you divide the calories in half and log 150calories instead of 300. I dont get why this turned into such a big deal.
  6. Anyone else been lectured to and what about?

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?

I only weigh once per week but on Thursday which was one week post op I weighed 247...I started at 268 on May 23rd ( this was my highest weight since I had no pre op diet) My goal is 165, so I had 103lbs to lose...I lost 21lbs so I lost 20% of excess weight. Went from a bmi of 40 to 37! It really varies person to person and there's not much people can do the first couple of weeks besides follow your doctors orders.
  8. Not sure if I'm posting in the right place but I'm so afraid of excess skin. I havent had my surgery yet (May 23rd) but has anyone lost a significant amount of weight and not had excess skin. Is there ways (certain exercises or specific foods) that help you have excess skin. I actually have a lot of self esteem now at 267 lbs and 5'8", ive always been pleasantly plump and came to love myself. What I'm worried about is developing self esteem issues. Ive seen pictures of lose skin and to me it looks worse than what I look like now. The reason I am getting the surgery is for future health issues as they run in my family, currently I am healthy (aside from being morbidly obese)
  9. ive actually seen higher weight losses...but i know i wont lose anywhere close to that amt every week. My starting weight was 268lbs and I'm 5'9". My weight on thursday (one week post op ) was 247lbs. I only wanna weigh once per week. My surgery was on May 23rd. On my app I cannot see profile pics so I cannot return the compliment wholeheartedly but I'm sure you look good too..thanks for the compliment. My goal weight is 165
  10. I know the itching is because the incisions are healing but what helps best for soothing this?
  11. Sorry if that came across wrong Im just sick of people saying these protein shakes are bad when we have no other choice and obviously this diet is working
