lcf_m started following Long Island Suffolk, Anyone try 5 Day Pouch diet? and 3 days post op - what is this pain in my chest???
-
I just wanted to Thank you all for your advice and your experiences regarding the 5 day pouch test. This being day 5, I feel refreshed! Days 1 & 2 were more difficult than I thought they'd be having to only eat/drink liquids. That really let me know how far I had veered off course. Also, I realized I needed to make a conscious effort to NOT drink 30 minutes before and after eating. These two things alone made this test worth doing!

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has tried that 5 day pouch diet? Can it work for us? I had the plicated band surgery almost two years ago. I lost 50 lbs pretty quickly and then it was as if my body got wind of what was happening and said, 'hey- no more!' I plateaued for months but then started to slowly gain 12 pounds back and I am panicking. I have had two fills since my surgery and feel comfortable with the band tightness..any tighter and I feel like everything and it's uncle gets stuck! I RAN my first 5k this weekend and feel great, but ..I need to 'reboot my system' ..so to speak! Saw something about that 5 day thing and thought maybe that would help?

My only advice to eating out is to just remember to chew chew chew. Whenever I get in trouble with getting things 'stuck' it's usually when we are out to eat. I am preoccupied with talking or keeping my kids in check or eating faster because we are rushing, etc. For me, I tend to 'forget' and not chew as much or I take too big a bite of something. Old habits die really hard! So just be cognizant of that!

Did your doctor correct a hernia? My doctor did while doing the surgery and it later felt as if a stake was being driven through my chest! Each time you breath you are using your diaphragm and that's where the hernia was fixed so it's painful. Congrats on starting your journey! -
Hi, I had Dr. Ahmad! He is fantastic! I had the I-lap 14 months ago and have had some issues. I could sure use some friends to discuss this all with!
